How do you climb on support?

Play a Support that is capable of getting picks and kills by themselves. Like Lúcio or Bap.

same way as you fall, usually, you try really hard during your games, heal, support, don’t die, and hope to god the teammates your supporting have the wherewithal to use your resources you’re giving them.

Enable your team better than theirs

Also, Brig.

Shockingly brig is kinda trash in lower tiers getting better as she goes, she’s not a magic bullet.

Grab a hold of their shoulders and then jump and grab with your thighs.

Don’t supports get nerfed when they have value outside of pocketing someone?

And aren’t there daily threads of “supports aren’t healing?!”

Basically I’m trying to win the lottery with matchmaker

How easy in RQ where every support is slowly but surely becoming a heal bot

41% WR, try again

Not so shocking that she works better in coordinated levels of play.

If that got me SR then I’d have The Rock’s leg muscles.

Oh yeah true I kinda forgot about that.

To OP: Below GM the best advise I can give is to limit deaths

Because each death is at least 20 seconds your team won’t get heals from you.

And if you’re Ana that’s devestating.

And when you hit GM or high masters start locking Brig because she’s busted up there

Thats the real key tbh. you’ll really improve your mercy play too if you like. think about high ground to maintain + corners to heal, make use of her lockon heals like that. Always have an escape route planned in a teamfight and be mobile.

Most of my supports average in the 4-4.8 range

My mercy is the lowest at 3.51

4.35 deaths per 10

If I ever get there I’ll strongly consider it

This sounds like Mercy 101

What else would I do? Be that braindead eZ hero everyone thinks she is going for every rez and holding M1 on a tank with 3 squishies around you?

You figure out who are the best players on the team and focus them. Also helps if you find out the optimal time to play where you get more serious players, personally I avoid weekends.

I’ll make sure to try

Interesting

Anyone know the times?

I used to play more around 1-6 AM in the past but recently I’ve been playing anywhere between noon and midnight.

Can’t say my luck this entire season has been worth a dime though

That is a dangerous reply. DPS Baptiste is rarely a good idea, even if he does well because DPS isn’t the strength of Baptiste’s kit. Reddit Lucio is sometimes viable, but the mechanical skill needed for such an endeavour takes a long time to get the hang of, and in the mean time will likely drop you farther than you climb.

My suggestion is to focus on healing and providing utility. It’s not glorious, but a support played the right way well is better than the wrong way well. Supports aren’t DPS, don’t play them like they are.

Also, focus on communication. You are supporting your team, let them know when they are being supported. Tell them that everyone is purpled. Tell them to move in because you are amping speed. Tell them that you have discorded the Rein. Tell the Genji you are going to nano him. Tell them that you are going to go for a Rez. Tell them that you are low on healing juice. Tell them that you are going to pack them before they dive.

Any support can climb consistently as long as they are used to their full potential. Don’t believe me? ML7 did unranked to GM on all main supports (except Brig I think).

Play Baptiste, Ana or Brig atm. You will climb 100%. More so on Brig and Baptiste.

Do not climb on Ana, that is a lawsuit waiting to happen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Back when I climbed from low silver to low/mid plat I did it by practicing pretty much every day. I would play Ana/Lucio/Zen in death match to practice 1v1s against DPS heroes to help myself with learning how to use my abilities against them to best survive.

I have dropped back down to mid gold now that I don’t play or practice nearly as much.

I also have a 2 loss rule and the I play something else. It helps me keep a level head and prevents me from getting too flustered which effects performance.

Depends on your rank.

In general: Be stubborn, don’t tilt and have a crapton of time

Average WR of 50%, win 24SR and loose 20SR on average, would mean 4SR for 2 games, or 2SR for one game
100games will result in average around 200SR

Even if you slightly overperfom it will take you a lot of time to make even little progress and too make it worse you have to endure the madness without tilting

Good luck

Well personally, I have many hours and a lot of experience on Lúcio, and playing in a DPS style is how I climb, may not work for everyone though.

As for Bap, you can take poke shots and heal almost simultaneously.

Your team does not need healing 100% of the time, and Supports are Supports. Not healers. They help in other ways besides healing. Whether that be utility, their ult, and, yes, getting kills

People that think Lúcio is good because of his healing don’t understand why he’s good, so don’t listen to them.

Lúcio gets value from peeling with boop, getting kills, Speed Boost, and Beat.
