How do I stop my hands from shaking?

Usually whenever I play Overwatch my hands will shake for like the first few minutes to an hour of playing. It messes up my aim really bad. I can’t keep my crosshair still when it’s shaking and I really need some advice on this, considering I mainly play hitscan.

Does it happen when you do other activities? Also do you drink lots of water?

Make sure you blood sugar is good. Even if you don’t have a condition that would affect it specifically. Basically make sure you’re eating okay. And as Cheese just said, stay hydrated.

Oh, and make sure your hands aren’t cold. Like temperature-wise.

one way to do it…for a short time is to hold your breathe, which is why snipers have the ability to hold breath in many games to steady their aim

I usually pop my knuckles and shake my hands as if i was trying to get water off of them. You may also want to take breaks every couple of matches and just do some breathing exercises.

They may be possessed, idle hands the devil’s playground and all that. I suggest you consult with an exorcist and pray to the baby Jesus 3 times a day.

i mean, i can’t personally give tips because…well i take stimulants every day

I have a bad habit of shaking my leg sometimes

You probably have anxiety, you should google “breathing exercises”. Try to do one every day. I do and it REALLY helps.

Is it like adrenaline, or is it low blood sugar? I tried playing this afternoon before realizing I hadn’t eaten in about 12 hours, which made for bad times trying to aim.

If it’s adrenaline, practice practice practice. You’ll get more comfortable over time (or at least more confident, hopefully!) and the fight-or-flight should calm down. There’s probably better advice than this though, tbh. >.>

It could be potentially adrenaline that is causing it.

Uncontrollable hand-shaking is something you’ll want to talk to a doctor about if it begins to hurt other aspects in your life.

For overwatch specifically though, maybe play your first couple rounds on a controller/gamepad? A thumbstick is much more forgiving on minor twitches.

Also, if you do coke, don’t do coke. Winners don’t do drugs.

My advice is inappropriate so won’t say, but it works

Don’t take it so seriously.

You could run lower mouse sensitivity to compensate.

Is it because you’re getting nervous?
I have this issue on Cs;go. I just get way too nervous in competitive.

take xanax my friend

It’s not anxiety I’m not sure why everyone keeps saying that. It’s likely a tremor which I also have which has nothing to do with anxiety it’s passed down to you.

If you want to medicate, beta blockers help. Having a drink or two helps. In terms of players and mouse, my advice is to play a character that doesn’t require good aim like junkrat and lower you sensitivity to like 2.5.

It is probably because your hands are cold and they need to be warmed up a little. If your hands are cold and that is why they are shaking I would say get some hand warmers like the ones the pros use in the overwatch league.
