Her parents are from Earth, but she’s a martian (red flags already). But we look past that, and whilst a martian, her spaceship allows for her to not wear the space helmet, consistent with all the other “humans” on board.
But arrive on Earth, and she finds the necessity to wear a space helmet?
I mean for crying out loud, Sandy Cheek’s space helmet (from Spongebob) makes more sense when she wears it underwater to Bikini Bottom.
I hate to make that comparison, but when something doesn’t make sense, I refer to what always will make sense: Spongebob
I could’ve sworn I read something somewhere about the helmet not being a hinderance with regard to designing cosmetics for her in future (they gave her pretty spherical hair so her silhouette wouldn’t change much without it)….as in we probably will get helmet-less designs in future
then let’s start thinking really really hard then
Why do Cassidy still wearing cowboy fit in the year 2070 ?
Why do Winston still wearing his space suit ?
What are the chances of Soldier 76 found a random jacket that have a giant number 76 on the back ?
Tracer hasnt been a pilot for years, why does she still wearing her pilot jacket ?
Is Genji naked ?
Maybe it’s because of compromised immunity, a big problem for humans raised in isolation. It could also be the terraformed atmosphere is different enough from earth to be an issue, it could also be part of a pressure system because of earth’s gravity. All kinds of plausible scientific reasons, but in the end it’s probably because it’s cool looking.
Why is it a red flag?
Could it not be that her suit can be controlled with buttons on the suit (her ult, and the ring) and she could have a hud in the helmet telling her valuable info?
No? Just assume a helmet is wrong for some reason? Cool.
Think of her like Ironman, without the money.
With no suit, she’s just a human.
She’s a Martian in the same vein as the Martians in The Expanse: human colonists. (For those who haven’t heard about The Expanse, I highly recommend it if you’re into Sci-fi; it’s one of the best series in the genre).
