My dude is here suffering since S9. He’s a Circuit Royal bot, and that’s it. Trash everywhere else. Also, his perks are not that game changing and a major perk comes with a nerf.
He’s trash because people have 50 more health? He’s a support, doesn’t sound accurate to me
Unless the season 9 changes were coincidentally happening at the same time he apparently became trash for no reason
It would be nice if his “Q” was “E” and his “E” was “Q”. Overall i think he has been overtaken thx to Juno, Kiri & Ana. I don’t know what changes he needs that can help him. More healing? or more damage? or less cd for his abilities?. umm
These changes also affected Reaper/Symm’s TTK to name a few.
If they revert ammo to 45 bullets, yeah.
They might rethink his perks at some point. Otherwise, he’s still pretty solid and will get more play if meta swings his way. Also, I saw more of him in 6v6 than 5v5, his kit is more impactful in tighter packed, death bally situations.
I dunno, I find he’s useful on quite a few maps. His perk that lets him move after jumping is really good.
I’d be a fan of them buffing the speed of his healing grenade projectiles so he’s easier to use with more of the roster. But that’s assuming he’s underperforming (or at least under picked).
It probably wouldn’t be enough of a buff by itself if he’s significantly underperforming. I haven’t played Bap in a while, not since before perks, so I don’t have strong perspective on him at the moment.
I think he’s pretty good atm. He got a buff to heals this season, and his perks are helpful. I like the immo and regen burst ones.
(I only been playing 6v6 though, so I get more group heals.)
By reverting S9 changes. He’s not exactly suffering though. Still a solid pick. High B tier
Regen burst attack speed increase comes at the cost of burst heal. I think the Burst heal is significantly more useful
Ever since Juno arrived, Bap fell off the radar and I couldn’t be happier.
I’d rather they not continue power creeping the guy even though nobody talks about this season’s Bap buffs, and instead change his kit to be better at lower ranks without rocking the boat for M+ ranks. He’s had time in the spotlight; I’m more than happy for Bap to “only” be strong and not optimal.
Oh, and although nobody asked, can we please give Illari more range on her healing beam please. Baseline. Cheers.
To be honest as a support main I honestly just do not like the arc of his healing. It annoys me. In some situations, it’s just frustrating. Idk if that’s a common sentiment but I’d much much rather play literally any other hero to specifically heal. I like his damage and jump and ult is whatever.
The main weaknesses I see with Baptiste is that his cooldowns are way too long. He brings nothing to a team beyond damage and healing. His projectile is overall difficult to use. The playstyle in general of shoot/heal is very hard to make work. He lacks mobility. He’s a man instead of a woman. Given how skins have been going of late, we see how money is coming into the game.
Looking down, then up fun for sheal/shoot is not quite a lot of fun. Kiriko/Moira do it better where you keep camera level with allies at all times. Less camera motion.
The vertical mobility is better than none, but he still forced to slow down while crouching which prevents him being able to exoboost jump at full speed. He has to sacrifice horizontal speed for vertical height.
Ifield is not as powerful as it once was now that we have LW/Suzu in the game. Along with speed boost ring which can act like ifield in different ways.
I’m not sure how this could be adjusted, but if nothing else, I’d still like if they moved crouch jupm to just regular jump bar. Avoid the speed penalty.
I dunno about that. Bap’s been relevant right up until Juno came and bumped him down a notch. Until then, Bap-Lucio (on maps like Antarctica) and pokier stuff like Bap-Illari, Bap-Zen and Bap-Brig have all done perfectly well. His lack of horizontal mobility isn’t a problem with these comps because they either provide speed for him - assuming blue team’s Lucio doesn’t sail off into the sunset and is never seen again by friendly eyes - or they’re more static comps anyway.
I don’t think there’s been a single point in time that Bap’s been threatened by LW.
I don’t think they’d dump the charge mechanic for Exo because Bap’s not meant to be bouncing around all the time in combat. But I’ve always thought that they could give him a passive where he has a faster forward crouch speed. (Only forward crouching to cut down on wacky a d a d crouch safety dance shenanigans). Might be cool…
Immortality field seems to be working as intended in organized ‘pro’ play, but fails to meet expectation in average play. I’ve seen tank players just be completely unaware of its radius and simply die anyway. He’s not even being played in the e-sport, his design has been a 100% failure in all branches of the game. Good in paper but no spirit.
Well, to each his own, I like the versatility of being able to use the increased speed for healing or damage
If he gets any buff that isn’t a total nothingburger, he’ll just dominate again. No thanks.
If his heal was more of a pharaj rocket and less of a junk rat nade that would help him feel a lot better and be more consistent, and also not require so much camera shaking which sucks…
How to help bap? Either rework him or just remove him from 5v5.
Jokes aside, bap is still good in 5v5. He just happens to perform a lot better in 6v6 for some reason. There is something about the presence of two tanks that seems to enable him.
Though I do agree that S9 hit him really hard. So I guess undoing S9 changes would be a good start in making bap more viable/flexible support, but that will never happen.
Ana got really lucky still being able to be a flex support even with one tank. I guess her kits transitioned better into a new format.
Bap actually performs a lot better in 6v6. He constantly used to rival ana in pick rates back in OW1. It’s mostly only 5v5 where he starts to fall off and becomes less flexible support. He is still strong though, but there are other supports like ana/kiri/juno who are way more flexible and gets picked way more often.
Bap also is one of the harder supports to play and has higher skill floor than most other supports to get basic value. You have to aim his heals, you have to aim your damage, you don’t have any “get out of jail free” card ability like kiriko’s TP/moira’s fade. So you’re basically S76 but instead of ability to sprint, you can only jump up vertically. Hitscan-mains can probably pop-off on bap, but the average-joe will likely strugle if they can’t aim.
I think its time for the Baptise Mythic. Bahamian Future Ghost? Oh yeah
