How are you guys doing in Ranked?

My group has been slowly climbing since the end of double shield seeing as our tank mains are DV.a and Zarya, some nights are better than others. But we are casual players so we only play maybe 30-50 matches a week. All in all not anything out of the normal.

I have given up on ranked lol. Just play arcade or quick play. After a tired day, I really want to relax and not be flamed for playing the hero I am good at or the hero which is not meta. Arcade modes like Mystery heroes is a lot more fun in my opinion

Been stuck in gold for many months now (only really play tank). Whenever I get some wins, I just get losses again soon enough. But I dont care so much anymore about climbing. I want to mostly play what I enjoy (Sigma) instead of whatever is meta, and I’m not good at being good at multiple heroes at a time. So I’m ok with being where I am.

Comp is the only mode I really have fun in, or that can keep my focus well enough away from the negativity of RL, because winning feels more impactful, matchmaking is (supposed to be) better, and the rule sets are preferable.

I’m platinum in Open Q, but the games there are usually more unbalanced.

I reached my personal goals of 4.3k on tank and reaching at least GM on DPS this season. Now going to be working on hitting GM on support.

I can’t decide whether I had my peak last season or season 20(?). In season 20 I peaked at 3910 but have been low masters/playing most games in diamond since. Last season I climbed to 4043 in open queue which…doesn’t feel like as big of an accomplishment as it should, especially considering that I’m struggling 500 sr lower in role queue.

Other than that my life’s been falling apart lately so I’ve barely played this season. Thinking about grinding comp in the upcoming days.

meh…ranked is a subjective term…I’m pretty much stuck where I always am high gold to mid-high plat…I can’t get improve beyond that so I just do placements for the competitive points at the end of the season

I retired from comp because I couldn’t win a game so I didn’t want to take my team down with me :frowning:

And you know the reason for it.

Stuck in the 600s rn. Can definitely feel a difference in calibre, compared with <500. The gameplay up in 700 may as well be contenders skrims.

I got better at the game once I stopped playing rank and only play events or Deathmatch.

The main reason was my matches were either insta stomps of a way inferior team or I’d be on the team that couldn’t buy a shot to be the ones getting stomped.

Both scenarios I wasn’t improving because if our enemy is really bad it’s way too easy.
And when my teammates are really bad even hard carry won’t let you put in consistent skill performance.

When I play Events during Arcade OW matches have that competitive aspect that I used to find only in comp mode.

That’s been my play experience as I don’t think people take comp serious anymore.

I don’t play Ranked anymore, and haven’t since last year.

I was climbing really well, got past 3100 and things were great. Had a few losses at the end of the season so I ended at about 3050. Unfortunately I queued with a thrower for my placements and let him tank my SR to 2930 simply because he, up to that point, had been a pretty nice person and I’d enjoyed playing with him back when he gave a damn, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

That absolute travesty shot my motivation so badly that I haven’t bothered with it since, plus my new place has unstable internet and I don’t love Ranked enough to risk losing 50SR over a disconnection. Low-stakes Quick Play is far less bothersome.

Not doing hot. Trying my best to get to Diamond playing Doomfist. I think I’m at 2800 after falling 150 sr in two days. I have much better games when I swap off and that really hurts my pride.

went from silver to 2480 in 3 days, yesterday lost 120 sr, climbed back to 2410 today

On the upper end of my usual yoyo through the plat rank. Sometimes I dip my toe in gold, like I did roughly a month ago, now I’m suddenly back up to within two games of diamond. Shrug. I’m a plat player and have made peace with that, I just like the comp format better.

Doesn’t mean I won’t tilt tonight when I inevitably lose five games in a row to fall back to mid plat from 2940, again. Lol!

Pretty much given up on ranked due to match quality and it having an actual impact on your rating.

I had done my placements last season for each role, figured I’d try another match just to see how things went… two leavers on my team after the match cancel timer expired. Fought most of the game 4v6 as a solo tank with one support. Not fun, called it quits for the season.

This current season rolls around, finished my placements. I figure I’ll give it another shot, placements only had 1 game out of 5 with a thrower! Straight away, our Mei is not in comms. We go on txt team chat and say we’re damage boosting a firestrike into their spawn. Mei walls off their spawn as the doors open anyway. Proceeds to completely not work with the team. Not sure if throwing or just a young kid on an older siblings account. Lose badly, not fun. Put competitive away again.

Been enjoying QP, match quality has actually been better than competitive lately.

Unranked. Screw comp.

Rather have fun and not get ulcers from stress.
