My bet is on poison as she has venom mines already in lore and it relates to spider’s venom when they entangle a prey.

Maybe the story happend like this?
“Excited” Amelie went with Gerard for party.
When nobody wasn’t looking, Amelie put poison to his drink. Minutes later Gerard started to feel really bad, Amelie sure him he has weak head for alcohol and asked him to leave the party so he can rest. Gerard never wake up again.

She probably did something needlessly sexual, typical of a femme fatale. I’m thinking she approached feigning a sudden burst of lust, lured him into their bedroom, and killed him with a passionate kiss of death via venom-laced lipstick that her conditioning made her immune to somehow.
