HD2 is full of political commentary, itās the entire basis of the game. Thereās literally a reason weāre in this thread talking about Starship Troopers.
Plus, Iād like to point out that in HD2, there is no difference between the male and female body type, itās the same. Same gear, same look, different voice. You donāt get much more āwokeā than thatāactual equality. All Helldivers are the sameādisposable soldiers sent to sacrifice themselves for democracy.
Like people donāt seem to get that every time they respawn theyāre a completely different Helldiver. If you respawn 10 times in one match, thatās 10 soldiers that died and were replaced in the blink of an eye in the name of spreading managed democracy.
How is that not political lol

And pacifism is literally illegal according to the laws of Super-Earth. If you are physically able to fight and you donāt, youāre a traitor and itās considered treason. If you sit on your ship long enough the TV will show the statistics for military enrollment and itās something like 4 percent of the population that canāt join the military.

Reading this kind of stuff, and I mean all your posts in this thread at least, make me laugh.
The vast majority of the world still solves problems with violence. Most eastern countries, at least the developed ones, have racism and bigotry baked into their laws and economic systems.
But ya, The United States is the worst.
As a veteran, I know my country has issues. But none of them are as bad as anti-patriots.

We could be, but a lot of the time it seems we pick the wrong battles and then the ones where we actually could be fighting in the true name of democracy, we donāt.

Europe has traded physical violence for threats. I expect a future when all European countries drop their leaders into a battle royale arena where they punch each other unarmed while spitting racist slurs in their respective languages. We would celebrate this ritual every 5 years or so to resolve our differences and elect the next ruling country until the next tournament.
The problem with this logic is that the Gamerā¢ās idea of politics begins and ends with ādo gay people/women exist in the gameā.
You got people on the internet who will look you dead in the eye and say Metal Gear Solid is not political because of who Snake is.
