H*lldivers 2 vs Overwatch

woke culture is what the ancients warned us of

Neither the continuous use of the words ā€œdemocracyā€ and ā€œfreedomā€ or the constant references towards a real life country with constant involvement in far away conflicts using both words as a pretext and their romantization of its military.

I’M DOING MY PART!!!

An aside, I immediately went out and re-purchased Starship Troopers after playing HD2, I forgot how much I love that movie lol.

Join the army!!! Visit cities!!! Meet new cultures!

People really just try to forget that art is shaped by a lot of this politics included some of the best games in recent history have subtle or obvious political commentary. There’s no woke agenda it’s just art reflecting life around them, the problem is their heads too far in the sand. Let’s be real hell divers is probably a good game because it is In fact a good game lack of politics might be a plus but I seriously doubt a game is great because it lacks any form of social commentary, it’s just you know a good game

And kill them!

HD2 is full of political commentary, it’s the entire basis of the game. There’s literally a reason we’re in this thread talking about Starship Troopers.

Plus, I’d like to point out that in HD2, there is no difference between the male and female body type, it’s the same. Same gear, same look, different voice. You don’t get much more ā€˜woke’ than that—actual equality. All Helldivers are the same—disposable soldiers sent to sacrifice themselves for democracy.

Like people don’t seem to get that every time they respawn they’re a completely different Helldiver. If you respawn 10 times in one match, that’s 10 soldiers that died and were replaced in the blink of an eye in the name of spreading managed democracy.

How is that not political lol

Also you are killing the bugs just to make oil and the automatons just because you dont like them being different lmao. And in the original game the sole reason to fight the aliens was because mankind doesnt like other faction having more advanced technology than us despite them being pacifist.

And pacifism is literally illegal according to the laws of Super-Earth. If you are physically able to fight and you don’t, you’re a traitor and it’s considered treason. If you sit on your ship long enough the TV will show the statistics for military enrollment and it’s something like 4 percent of the population that can’t join the military.

But those facist bugs and those socialist bots must be destroyed. IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM!

Damn stupid Ciborgistan

Reading this kind of stuff, and I mean all your posts in this thread at least, make me laugh.

The vast majority of the world still solves problems with violence. Most eastern countries, at least the developed ones, have racism and bigotry baked into their laws and economic systems.

But ya, The United States is the worst.

As a veteran, I know my country has issues. But none of them are as bad as anti-patriots.

And by god he achieved that goal.

We’re hardly the worst but we’re also not the best.

We could be, but a lot of the time it seems we pick the wrong battles and then the ones where we actually could be fighting in the true name of democracy, we don’t.

And as a veteran, I think you do know that. And I’m sure it bothers you as much as it bothers someone like me. Probably more because it’s your life that was risked for a half-truth. Thanks, by the way. I appreciate you.

lmao to this day people still don’t get it and go off on how it’s a terrible movie. Meanwhile I’m like are you kidding me it’s GREAT lol.

Europe has traded physical violence for threats. I expect a future when all European countries drop their leaders into a battle royale arena where they punch each other unarmed while spitting racist slurs in their respective languages. We would celebrate this ritual every 5 years or so to resolve our differences and elect the next ruling country until the next tournament.

The problem with this logic is that the Gamer™’s idea of politics begins and ends with ā€œdo gay people/women exist in the gameā€.

You got people on the internet who will look you dead in the eye and say Metal Gear Solid is not political because of who Snake is.

This reached a point where we all expect a new hero coming out of their closet every year. Its so strangely common in this lore that it stops feeling realistic at all.
