I’m from Puerto Rico and also having random rubber banding or micro pauses in almost every match but no apparent high ping or connection issues. I’m not the only one. Even my friends are experiencing the same issues whenever we are on different matches or on the same squad.

Rubber banding like there is no tomorrow. How is it that I have low latency but still manage to lag or have my shots not get registered? I live in Puerto Rico and it seems like I’m not the only one here having this issue.

Hey everyone, from the network tracing you’ve all been posting, this appears to be an issue within your ISP’s network. You’ll likely need to contact them to sort this out.

Nicole’s recommendation is actually spot on in this case. The Looking Glass results that have been posted have been consistently showing that data is getting through and exiting our network and peering partners with relatively low latency.

Consistently in the looking glasses, we’re not seeing elevated latency until the traffic begins to be routed via backbones/local infrastructure. Since most, if not all, of you guys are on Liberty Cable, we’d like you to run WinMTR tests while connected to a Custom vs AI match and post them here - try to capture the disconnect/rubberbanding in the MTR. With information that looks at the route the other way, we may be able to identify a problem node.

First of all, I really appreciate your response!
Some forums are not moderated as it should and your reply makes it feel that we are not left in the dark.
Back on point, it is never safe to assume we are all using the same local ISP’s. Not to brag about, but in my case this is the best ISP/Connection Method I could get in my area and to be honest at this time it is only happening on Blizzard game tittles. Not long ago I report a similar incident and apparently Puerto Rico was not the only one experiencing the same problem.
I’m aware of many external variables that can contribute to connectivity issues but sometimes we as an average customer can’t determine or explain the technical aspect of the problem to the ISP Tech Rep, maybe not due by the lack of knowledge but also because of the platform that we are connecting from. But when an IT/Provisioning/Engineering Dept/Group of a company such Blizzard “bring their two cents” it is my guess that the ISP will be more “willing” to listen and improve their nodes/routes, etc.
In my case I’m using PC version of Blizzard tittles. I’ll run WinMTR and post the results as suggested.

I actually wasn’t assuming that everyone who had posted was on the same ISP, I was checking against where everyone was posting from. We’re able to get some limited data from when you post, including what ISP is being utilized. The majority of the posts so far were consistently coming from Liberty Cable, so that’s why I mentioned it explicitly.
Really appreciate the MTR results though! To clarify, those two nodes with elevated worst latency are some of our peering partners. If we can get additional MTR results that are all consistently showing the same data, we may be able to escalate something up to have it investigated.

Well, I believe this is it then… I’m trying to help but if every time we report some issues that evidently is not related to our end and the Admins/Moderator reply without any sense of commitment to the customers, certainly nothing will be escalated/addressed accordingly.
Just to make sure I got you right, and for the benefic of the users/customers reading your answer:
- If two Blizzard’s nodes are reporting constant delays that actually is more than 3-4 times randomly, will it cause any connectivity like issues?
- If so, why it can’t be considered to be escalated?
- Even more, with the same test results / Troubleshooting Procedures you asked for? Which by the way are well and officially documented on this forum.
Sorry, but honestly I don’t understand how this incidents are addressed by your Tech/Help Desk System/Policies.
This kind of response from your Tech Support perspective puts you on a questionable spot. Bare in mind, most of Us, your customers, are IT Pros who don’t buy lazy answers.
