from what ive seen, low elo players want to get along with high elo players

but high elo players got their ego flying through the roof because “im good ur bad”

Rank shouldn’t govern who you choose to get along with.

It’s 2020.

Not really, i’ve seen a large amount of low elo players having a bigger ego than me

What’s even more annoying is high elo players acting like only their game matters… as if the other 85% of the playerbase should live with mechanics that are outright broken for everyone else so they can call it balanced.

Now quickly, tell me how this is “correct” and how it :“must be this way”

High elo players often are low elo players too

I’m not that type of high elo player who is selfish i want the game to be enjoyable at every rank.

But by trying to make ovewatch a game for every one they’ll end up making a game for no one.

What to do if most of the high elos are extremely toxic?

This is not an accurate division of those players who don’t get a long as it is not high tier players vs. low tier players. It’s that those who want the game to be objectively balanced around heroes’ realistic potential in high tier with meta in mind vs. those who want to balance the game based on their subjective opinions about things like fun and skill.

And it’s quite obvious as to why these players almost never agree with each other. Those who want the game to be balanced objectively and correctly are obviously never going to agree on one hero being more powerful than another just because it’s more “fun” or more “skillful” and those who believe that these things are universal truths (which they are not) will never understand how someone could think that it’s a good idea in any way. The third group from low tiers would be more on the latter side except they don’t even think about universal truths or anything like that. They just want their own subjective opinions based on their empirical experiences be the basis for balance changes and due to their vast lack of knowledge about this stuff they’re really adamant about these things enjoying the full Dunning-Kruger effect

They are so self-centered that in their minds only the GMs can give an opinion on gameplay “such a hero is good because he has a lot of pick in the GM, you are platinum so be quiet” I often see this on this forum.

Interesting take… I usually find the one’s who say “im good ur bad” either need to abuse hero cooldowns/OP heroes, duo with a Mercy who will pocket them all the time or are just straight up boosted trashcans.

All three tend to happen when the moon is in mercury retrograde. (lol)

Seriously, it’s the same type of person who uses wall-hacks/silent aim-bots and then BMs in chat or in game.

Granted a lot of people do have seriously inflated egos that they tend confuse with their actual self-worth in the game, but I find that across all elo’s. It’s just a difference in the specifics as to why everyone else besides them are trash.

Thing is High Elos have good mechanics and proper comunications with coordination. Things in Lower Elos are next to non existant. So there always be disagreement about certian heroes that unravel their potential with proper teamplay. Or heros that are easly shoot down with proper focusing.

Concept of peeling is another one that is vastly different between the two.

Thing is understanding and trying to work some compromises. And not feeding your ego.

Stop making generalities i met somone with a very intense passion for overwatch but his patch note where not going in right way and he was lacking of knowledge. I’m currently trying my best to teach him the game by vod reveiw docs explaination etc

What you call “making generalities” I call reality. welcome to it.
