Hero bans and private profiles

57% win rate in 1032 hours played on that hero alone. Ya people hate that. They’re like, “I hate winning, could you swap to Doom please”.

Don’t you play Hog AND Reaper? Ashe has somewhat of a shotgun too, doesn’t she… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not anymore. I am Reinhardt only after they desecrated the sanctity of my shotgun heroes. The good news is that the rocket hammer hits different. It’s like a shotgun if you squint really hard while under the influence.

Don’t do drugs, though. It’s not worth it.

Some of us now have an axe that splodes the enemies and sends them to hades. I love when my little buddy starts getting angry and spit’n flames.

If you think that nobody’s ever complained about your Rein play in over 1000hrs, I quite frankly don’t believe you’re playing Overwatch.

Especially not in Gold 5.

You know, Hog isn’t even all that bad now. The combo is just a bit different. With a decent enough team you can outplay Mauga!

Reaper is kind of dog but if you’re playing crossplay with console you can probably get a bunch of value out of him.

Let’s start from the beginning.

(The OTP’s is in bold. That was the original text I quoted)

I am telling MeowKami, I could technically be placed in the camp of the One Trick because of the accumulated amount of time I have on one specific hero.

This was for posterity.

My assessment was that you read, and understood, the previous quotes and conversation.

Have people said they didn’t want me to do a specific thing as Reinhardt, yes. Has anyone ever said that I am a One Trick on Reinhardt, yes. Has anyone ever complained that I am a Reinhardt One Trick, no.

Again, I do not only play Reinhardt, but I have more time on him than most people have in the game.

Did you even look at my play time for this season, or since Overwatch “2” the DLCeequal was released? I don’t play competitive mode that often. Most of the time, it’s because I play with other people who do. I played way more in Overwatch Original, and was career Platinum. At least until I left Alaska for a month or so and on a fresh account on a family members computer I ranked up to Masters and stayed there for that season. Anchorage Alaska latency of 90 compared to Phoenix Arizona latency of 30. Makes a bit of a difference in how the game plays. It’s the primary reason I don’t play comp to begin with.

Regardless of this, I don’t mind being in Gold, because its where all my friends and family are. I would rather play games with them then be stuck playing on my own.

To be fair ppl with pvt profiles are not invested in this game. If they have private profiles I don’t group with them or invite them to friends lists, as it just screams to me that they don’t care how they play, and they are not looking either to improve themselves or to find other good teammates to band together with, especially for Comp.

Usually this is true.
People with open profiles are also generally more open in this game, which makes them more fun to play with.

Ah but Nobody is going to announce their winrates unless it’s over 55%. And even then its kinda weird to ask someone hey whats your winrate.

The winrate is the only stat people look for when wanting to :eyes: at someones profile. That and perhaps hours played on hero. But winrate is number 1.

Do we need to? No. But it’s just nice to have. I used to :eyes: at stats at the gods of the lobby too ya know. I like numbers okay? Specifically seeing the numbers of you and everyone else capiche?

Blizz took away a lot of nifty things going into OWToo.

The only reason I am not going to announce my winrate is because I have no clue what it is and my profile is open. You can check it if you want. I am not going to do it for you. Ya dig?

But baby, together we can improve my winrate! Just you and me!

Honestly? No.

It’s not at all relevant to me or my argument and I wasn’t that invested, sorry. I also didn’t request your Alaskan biography, especially since you said yourself your goal was to be at odds with each other.

You claimed, “I’ve not had any complaints” “I’ve played Rein for over 1000hrs” (I only saw 915+?2), and “I’m proud of my public profile”. So I only looked as far as I needed to.

My premise was in 1000hrs around Gold 5 (or any rank) I severely doubted nobody has ever complained about your Rein play; I wasn’t interested in reading that you actually meant nobody has ever complained about you one-tricking. Most people are happy for a Rein that isn’t throwing his brains out or too timid, so that tracks. I figured in enough time somebody would complain about how you played Rein, though. Again, this is OW.

For the record, I also didn’t say anything negative about you being in Gold 5 (I don’t care about your or anyone’s rank), your explanation was all your own sensitivity and interpretation. I do know how metal rank players can communicate, sometimes.

IDK, I’d be honest if I didn’t sense maliciousness from the asker. Maybe I’m just dumb, though. I frankly think anything over 51% is good, and it’s more impressive with more time on the hero (but you also don’t know how they learned in OW).

When I looked at profiles I would look at weapon accuracy to know if I could play Junkrat into whichever hitscans.

! Not to pull rank, but I think avoiding one is worth the cost of the other, especially when you can still open up your own profile and find kindred spirits who have done the same, if it means that much to you.

I’ll 1000% agree that the menu should be grayed out if a player’s profile is private, though. That is reasonably enraging to waste your time to be slapped in the face with the grey screen of death. They should’ve changed that back in OW1.

News Flash: People that hide things on purpose are generally not trusted.

Now lets see the PII defenders for no reason, like a Gaming Profile is part of that lol.

“Get off XYZ and go back to your XYZ main because something something I think you are the reason we are losing and this is why and I will think this and flame you for it”

How does one tell if a given player profile is private due to it being the default, or set that way “on purpose”?

I don’t want hero bans. I’m proud of my profiles and leave them open. If you could look before we banned, they’d go private for sure.

This. Bingo.

The real reason folks want to see profiles? Find a scapegoat for their woes. Womp womp.

Sure they do. Ban heroes you don’t want to play against. Not heroes you think your enemy is best on.

Because there isn’t any actual coherent reason besides using it as a tool to attack others for their choice of heros, which isn’t a valid reason.

And before anyone against provate profiles says anything, I have never set my profile to private.
