I am curious as to what the new hero will be like especially as I assume they will be a tank.

I have been very happy with Baptiste and now main him but it has taken a lot of effort. I dropped out of gold and went down to bronze playing him instead of Lucio and only now have I got back into gold by climbing using him.

So it has made me a bit weary of new heroes. Everyone has to learn the characters strengths and weaknesses. Even when Brigitte came out it took a while until people realised she was completely OP. So I approach new heroes cautiously now. Iā€™m looking forward to seeing who it is but Iā€™m sticking with Bap and will probably only play the new hero in Quick Play.

To let people embrace Lock 2-2-2 in OWL Stage 4 July-August? lol that would be extreme to have Hero 31 mid-Augustā€¦ Possible too though. And push the new map in September maybeā€¦

Damn, I need a hint/tease. Even if itā€™s really got nothing to do with the real Hero 31. Let me hype like when we were searching for the hidden room in Paris map!!! Iā€™m bored!

I find it odd how they devote a whole patch solely for the purpose of subtitles. Not to mention it was 1 GB, which is relatively large compared to some of the other patches. But it would be safe to say 90% of the patches either have:

  • A new hero
  • A new map
  • Event
  • Balance Changes

This patch has none, just subtitles and bug fixes. Donā€™t get me wrong bug fixes are great, but I just find it odd they devote this much to just bug fixes and a small content featureā€¦

If we count all lines and languages, the subtitles take huge space. But maybe one map is going to change to tease the new hero. I havent been on the updated PTR.

I went through all the heroes, and nothing is different except for minor Roadhog and Moira changes. So no hidden balance changes so far.

Do remember there were also workshop changes alongside the subtitles and bug fixes.

While it is weird that something like this weights this much, I recommend you moderate your hype just in case. We donā€™t know if their comment about having a different schedule this summer includes hero 31.

I really hope it is them adding the new hero. But arenā€™t those additions usually much heavier? Perhaps itā€™s a partial addition, as in theyā€™re getting ready.
