You mean 17 DPS heroes… not 17 Supports.
She didn’t, Briggitte came along and made everything but goats obsolete.
The game was actually quite good before she came out, dive was the most widespread but certain orisa hog comps counted dive and Rienhardt comps beat out orisa hog and dive beat out reinhardt comps, now its just the same old crap at pretty much every elo.
Simple reason, I love damage heroes, there doesn’t have to be a rhyme or reason to it. More specifically I’d like a high damage hero with Tank capabilities, a DPS/tank hybrid similar to Brigitte’s tank/support hybrid style, but with more punch than say D.Va or Zarya.
Ah, so it’s a personal thing more than an objective thing. I can respect that.
I don’t honestly care too much at this point… but I would lean a bit toward tank or support.
bro they said she’s coming, just not as hero 30. Discovered it later.
Anything that is a “main” slot, but provides something new…For example:
Tank: Can create a bunker/half-wall that blocks enemy movement but allies can shoot through. Relatively small since it would have a lot of health, but can place more than one at a time (similarly to how Symm’s turrets function). Could also have skills that support players, like having an aura that gives damage reduction, aura that gives shields (RIP Symm), etc.
Healer: Something like a discipline priest in WoW would make me moist. Provide healing by debuffing enemies, but would still be able to provide spot healing. This might get ridiculous with DPS like Reaper, but YOLO. I like having the other utility skills as well, but maybe have this support provide debuffs to the team (such as a slow, root [NOT stun], etc.).
TL;DR Anything that can be a main slot and is interesting.
It’s gonna be a tank. Echo looks like a healer so hero 30 will be a tank. I just hope its a main tank or at least an off-tank that shakes the actual crappy meta.
The two tanks that have been added to the game post-launch have both been main tanks. I want a new off tank for once. We’ve been stuck with only Hog, Zarya and D.Va since launch. If you’re an off tank player then you have only 3 characters to ever choose from which is a pathetically low number. Not that I’m tired of those 3 but, you know, having more options is always nice.
I’d say tank, I’ve seen a lot of fan-made concepts for new tank heroes, and it has me excited for a new one.
Barrier tank and then echo can be 31 with a good version of 2.0 syms kit with piercing attacks to counter hero 30
Well I won’t be sure which till the next patch.
For whatever hero gets a rework, will likely be countered by Hero 30.
A spiked tank on fire who damages people who attack him at close combat.
Tank, they generally enable more variety than supports.
A new tank would be cool - I would prefer an off-tank. Or another creative main tank that doesn’t “take away Rein’s job” (no more barriers)
A healer would be great - I have a few concepts I would love to see. Hoping to sketch them out and share before the next hero drops. I would love to see if they can make a shield-based support! Or a “turret” healer (the key though is to figure out how to make a builder support that can keep up with Overwatch’s mobile pace)
I want them to fix the damn game. Another hero is just gonna make more of a mess, unless they’re some waste of space hero like Orisa, Sombra, Hammond, or Doomfist. But hey, there’s a very strong chance of that.
Agreed. Guess they were too scared of what her damage output would have been with the consistency if her firing.
So slow firing hitscan.
Is it bad that I’d rather have a campaign mode/tutorial mode instead of more heroes? D=
I feel like a lot of nuances are missed for new players, and it would be nice to go through a campaign that makes it clear how to actually win (instead of it being a death match.)
I don’t think they ever will, otherwise they wouldn’t have taken Symmetra out of the support class. I suppose their idea of the support class was originally incorporating characters that protects their team with abilities aside from healing (with energy shields, bringing the team back faster with teleports etc like Symmetra did before), but noticed as the game went on and evolved that it wasn’t how players perceived the support class, and that the idea they originally had did not fit the game as well as they thought it would.
