Healer Vision and/or New Chevrons

This is exactly what Im saying. Even it it was only the healers that could be seen. Basically the opposite of what the healers see. I think this would do nothing but bring a positive change to the game.

I know my friends who dont play support complain about it all the time. Ill tell them to come to me for healing and they aren’t sure where I am and then I have to try and describe the area of the map that Im in.

It just so counterproductive to what Overwatch is all about and its something that Ive been screaming about since day 1. I wish this issue would just be addressed already.

These are some really good suggestions here! It would be nice to see something like this added to the game because I think it would make it easier to work as team because you’d have a better idea of where your teammates are and what kind of situation there are in.

My only concern is that it could perhaps make the screen a little cluttered when you pair added icons or something like that with some of the Character’s HUDs. But I can’t see that being too much of an issue.

Fair. But on the other hand, Overwatch has one of the most basic HUDs Ive ever seen. Its very easy to figure out. Because of that, I dont think extra information like this would cause too much of a problem. The HUD is basic enough to support extra information. Especially with the addition of opacity sliders.

I’m glad there are others speaking up on this issue. I feel like this implementation would need to be an optional UI element as I understand the concern that it can detract certain players from the action.

I do not disagree with that. By default however, I think that this should be on. If players dont like it (which Im sure most would) then they can simply go into the options and select “chevrons only”.

To me, this is no different than players having the option to turn friendly health bars ON or OFF

Tunnel vision, in my opinion, the biggest leading cause of player deaths in Overwatch.

One of the leading causes of tunnel vision is players not being able to realize that their team is nowhere around them.

I cannot stress how often I see D.Va’s charging into enemy forces, Reinhardt dropping his shield and charging into an Orisa Fortress of Death, Moira’s caught in the open plains, Soldier & McCree going on massive flanking sprees etc.

It happens to EVERYONE.

…and a lot of it has to do with the inability to actually see where your teammates are most of the time.

I fully endorse this idea, it would make things better for everyone.

Exactly, and thats because this is a FPS. The game would have been better if it was 3rd person in that sense just because it would be easier to see whats going on around you.

However, since we are stuck with FPS, to help minimize this issue would be to find better ways to indicate where your team is.

Minimaps wont work in Overwatch. I really think my suggestion would fix most problems. No all. But most.

Still waiting on this to become a thing. Ult charge in scoreboard is a great new change on the PTR, still slightly annoying that you have look at the scoreboard to access that information.
We are almost there. All we need is new chevrons or healer vision and to have ult/health information displayed on the regular HUD like in the Uprising event

I honestly don’t even think it would be that complicated to implement it, seeing that you alredy have the option to see the players outlines through walls and ult/health percentage on spectator mode. If they made it exactly like that then I would alredy be sold.

Exactly. Everything we are asking for already exists in the game. Its not like they have to make something brand new.

This can also be said for Sombra. When she Hacks, there should be a skull icon above the players head and when someone on your team is Hacked there should be a red skull icon above them. This already happened in Uprising last year and STILL hasn’t been put into the game yet even though people ask for it on a regular basis.

Regardless, these simple changes make the game better for everyone.

Why is this not being discussed more often and why is it not implemented yet?

I would like this as well so that my teammates can know where I am especially if I’ve been hacked and can’t get away fast enough, and as Mercy Main I’d like to have the ultimate status (it would be great if it showed a wheel representing how close an Ultimate is to being ready) and teammate health bars on the top right of my screen because I can’t always be tabbing if in the middle of a teamfight when that info is very critical to know right away.

Would be nice to know exactly where my healers are… or them to know where I am. Even if they don’t want everyone to be able to see their own team through walls just the chevrons would be amazing.

On top of new chevrons at least, I really, REALLY need that small team hud so I don’t have to BLOCK MY ENTIRE VIEW to know who’s alive.

Exactly. Its really annoying being forced to block the entire screen every few seconds just to access information that I want on my regular HUD.

Again, this could be an option so not everyone has to have it on if they dont want it.

I feel like we are getting closer to this with having ult charges show on the scoreboard but its not where it needs to be yet.

I really want more people to help push this topic and not let it die. I think its very important to the overall health of the game, especially with new heroes coming out that would really benefit from it like Brigitte.

Yes. That would be so useful. I think it would help your team work together and maybe even cut down on toxicity at the same time because people would know when the healers are dead

Really there is no reason not to make this change. I really want to hear feedback on this

Exactly. We have gone through so many PTR cycles where at the very least this is something that could have been tested to see how people feel about it…

I dont know how much harder I have to beg for this.

I seriously can’t think of any reason why healer chevrons would be gamebreaking. I’ve been saying this among my friends since the first few months of the game. It’s now almost been two years. Even if they can’t get to it immediately, a little word that it’s been considered would be great! Please and thanks!

Same here. I always thought it was strange you couldn’t see your team the way a healer does
