So the healing nerf is making moira unable to properly heal a tank well enough.
you can use your healing orb and lemonade and its still not enough to heal a tank taking damage.
I thought healers werent supposed to be heal bots but just support?
How dare they!
They should do as much damage as a Sym turret, have the mobility of Zen, as much hp as Tracer, and less utility than Moira or Illari
But also be able to keep me alive through anything, while also enabling me to get all the kills
Stop face tanking every assault..
I don’t want to spend my entire game playing DPS moira, After the nerf, It feels like her healing is way too low.
no I don’t try to be a heal bot, I have to dps a bit to refill the lemonade stand. but moiras damage is low, and her heal output is low.
after the nerf, she is almost trash tier
Moira does exactly two things, and only those two. She deals damage, and she heals. That’s it. That’s her entire thing. She has no other tricks, even Mercy has more going on, the utter barnacle that she is.
So if you’re gonna play Moira, you gotta be doing all that damage. It’s not a vibe, it’s not a style, it is a REQUIREMENT to being effective on the hero.
The problem every support player faces, is pretty simple; incoming damage is an order of magnitude higher than your healing output. Period, that’s just how it works, you’ve got five people shooting at your team and just two people healing your team, and DPS is, by design, higher than HPS.
So the most effective way to keep your team alive is, in fact, doing damage to the enemy team. Forcing them out of the fight or even eliminating them guarantees they will do no damage, which then makes your healing output more effective.
And that’s how healing works. It’s patches and bandaids. You use it to keep your teammates upright, not to keep them full health at all times.
Spew your, ugh, lemonade just enough to keep a critical teammate from falling over. Throw a purple ball into to the enemy team, and hold down M2, spray a little more to keep a teammate standing, go back to M2. or go real aggro and just flank their backline; you’re right, Moira does no bust damage, but she does very consistent damage, and has high survivability.
Moira (and Illari) is the epitome of the idea of supports being “a DPS who heals.”
Also; The survival of your teammates is not solely your responsibility. They need to be actively avoiding damage, using healthpacks and cooldowns, etc. If your tank is taking that much damage, then he needs to like… leave the fight. Take a corner. Eat a sandvich. something.
I’d love to see a Moira that used her spray correctly. You can’t just spray it all out at once but it short spritzes to get the most benefit of the heal-over-time. It makes a huge difference and no one does it.
Moira can’t keep a tank alive with healing alone . She’s got to be securing kills and getting aggressive. Not solo-mission DPS Moira, but not cheerleading like Mercy either.
Ok but what about the heros who have kits clearly designed to focus ON HEALING, n
Such as Moira and mercy? (LW is half way there too hence he needed 6 large buffs and brand new perks to escape F tier)
Tbh they have done a lot for mercy and LW to make their kits work recently.
But Moira is still supposed to be “THE super healer, who must attack to upkeep her limited resource”
Yet her healing-throughput value is pitiful compared to any other form of support value (it’s kinda dumb for Ana and wuyang to have something like heal boost in addition to other things, kind means Moira ain’t even special at the ONE thing she does)
They need to decide if Moira is supposed to be a super healer or a poor mans silver flanker eternal and move from there.
Like, nerf her hp to 200 (yea really, it’ll make her terrible at solo duels but still able to pester) and buff heal spray to 90 and heal orb to 90, and see what happens.
Maybe also nerf her healing resource (like, substantially, to force her to attack and have some healing down time so it’s strategic) and buff heal spray all the way to 100.
If she were a power medic with limited resource, instead of a pseudo flanker that’s terrible at her job and a sort of crowd healer who is no better than other healers in any meaningful way, she might actually be worth a team slot.
The icing on the cake is the lower tiers won’t hate dealing with her so much, and she will still be useful as a deterrent to things like low rank genji and tracer, without feeling like a silver ash or ana worst nightmare.
I was just being facetious. But healing is fine you just have to have people who don’t face tank a whole team and expect you to heal through it all.
Moiras orb is awesome if you know basic geometry. Even better with the minor perk giving her burst healing. By the time it’s off cooldown you can throw another orb.
Because the tank is taking too much damage and not utilizing cover because of bad positioning.
