Have all profiles be public in comp

Look man, no one needs to see my mercy hours. No one needs to see such filth on their screen. it’s better kept hidden. Plus when my profile was available, everyone just asked me to play mercy. Repeatedly. I’d rather not be told to play the same hero over and over.

I love the irony in this thread man, oh its gold.
“Just ask your team mates what do they play”

Really? Are we going to ask the dude that is HIDING information on purpose what they play? Clearly someone that HIDES things is a trusted source of information, yep. That makes total sense.

Lets all debate for 10mins in the lobby on picks or who should get X hero for no reason.

“Hey dude, can you let me Ana? I have 80% WR after 80 matches”
(checking … private profile)
Yeah no.
"Why? You have only 56% dude, are you throwing or what?
Throwing shade on my public profile with a private profile yourself, great mate. I trust you now EVEN less.

There are folks who like private profiles for a variety of reasons

Personally, I know of no good reason to have a public profile

This might not be a popular opinion. :smirk: But this very reason in this post, is why smurffing issues started in the first place. Nobody wanted harassment about their main profile picks, so essentially this is why they did it. Because people made TONS of alt accounts just to avoid the very same problem.

Also, it might not be a popular thing either. But the reality of Combat is, is that IRL a person is NOT going to know what their enemy is. I’ve never played any other online game that had Player profiles revealed and what their play-stats were like. Which is why people are also talking about wanting blizzard to REMOVE portrait levels as well.

Players have a tendency to FOCUS the person on the team with the highest level of play time, because they know if they can suppress that specific player from the game. Than the rest of the game is easiest. Whether they know they are doing it or not. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeeeeep. It’s just unneccesary. I haven’t touched Mercy in a long time. I have 100s of hours on other heroes that I play more recently… with better winrates. I’ve gained over 1200SR since I quit playing her. But she’s still my “most played”.

but if I opened my profile and everyone focused on those time played bars? Loll. “No wondeRRR we’re LoSiNg!@!@!”

It just feels like such a pointless feature.

Given other responses in this thread alone, or the OPs in other threads asking for public profiles so “they” can build the most optimal team, without ignoring all of the implications of them wanting to build a team comp, how does it seem pointless?

Although, I support private profiles in the end. Don’t know why they haven’t deleted old seasons time played for Competitive. Make no sense. But keep last seasons stats until the next season.

Uh… they didn’t.

They didn’t though. Each competitive season has their own spot in the drop down menu

not to me…

Typo there on Have. Should of fix it to haven’t.

Oooooh okay that makes sense now

This.

I love Mercy, but I hated constantly getting told to play her, harrassed if I didn’t, or getting “Ugh, Mercy Main picked dps. Gg guys” almost every single game.

I’m not even a Mercy one trick. I have hundreds of hours on other heroes yet i’d get screamed at if I picked anyone else but Mercy.
Heck when I first started the game I mained Tracer, can still play her quite well. I just fell in love with Mercy and enjoyed playing her.

Private profiles are absolutely one of the best things added in game.

You don’t need that. Want to play a certain strat? Try “Hey can anyone play hero X?”. Done.

I allow people to make their own decision. The problem that often arises is the team not having a balanced team comp and the team now having to find solutions, instead of asking blindly people at random roles and experiences. A complete record of, what a person is capable of and can contribute to the team help out tremendously.

Stop spamming and spreading your opinion of, what i want or do.

There is no amount of talking that could as easily give people the information they need, as a complete record of a players stats and play experience.

Whether i trust a person or not is irrelevant if we sit in a situation, where multiple roles are not covered and this game is a badly made one to begin with. IF you then as a player choose for some reason to hide usefull information for your team, that might lead to completely new ways to play as the current “team”, that is incredibly selfish.

Asking for experience etc on now close to 30 heroes etc is whack and a waste of time. Outside of this, it is not guaranteed, that a single person is aware of all the combinations of how to build a team at a given time, so he might not be aware of some of the changes that could be made between the roles of multiple players to win a game. Here again, 6 players, public info, would be insanely helpfull.

This whole issue is a problem, because of mutiple roles and a single queue system. If we had role queue and seperate SR for each role, we wouldn´t need anything else. Yet we do not, but then to remove the least bit of information left to the players to try and strategise is now up to the selfish acts, of players willingfully wanting to hide these stats.

This just provese how little you look at this objectively and purely go rage mode, most of all cause you prob had a bad time with it.

Stop acting like it is a crap mentality to dislike selfish behaviours in a team game. It is the complete opposite. The absolute minimum that should be allowed, if for the other people to select to not play with those selfish players.

That is completely irrelevant, the fact is the game is a team game, you are hiding usefull information for your teams success. Purposefully, might i add, this is the definition of selfish/counterintuitive to teamplay.

It wasn´t talking about you, it was a setup situation. Still evenly split is a flex player, not a main.

That is not an entitlement, it proves the selfish behaviour of someone feeling like, they can do, what they want to in a 6 man team game. The mentality of “I bought it, i can do what i want”, is straight up a selfish and completely counter intuitive to teamplay…

The problem with your behaviour is being aware, that you cannot fulfill your role to the level of play, yet wanting to demand it cause “You paid for the game”, this is equal to throwing for a team, since you are completely invalidating the team structure.

This problem is only present cause they haven´t adressed the much needed feature of role queue and seperate SR for them. But that doesn´t change the actions that you show.

yet it’s okay for you to think “I bought the game so I can tell you how to play and if you don’t listen I will report you”

if you have such an issue with how others play then form a 6 man team and elect yourself dictator supreme, then you can force everyone to play your way.

in a random team you have to accept that you don’t have that control over everyone

Where in the world did i say that ? I never did. It is not alright to report for hidden profiles.

I am simply stating the fact, that hiding your stats is def an act of selfishness towards your team and the team play aspect. Qucikplay is there as an option to do what you want, comp is not.

Again with all these “made up statements, that were never said”, why do you guys even bother arguing, when all you do is throw around the words, that you want to hear, but never did. Stop trying so damn hard to be a victim.

It is insane how being selfish is being protected as a right. The fact, that you have to do that to avoid selfish people is insane.
