I’m ready to buy Overwatch 2 and abandon Overwatch 1 forever!
Hooray for treason!!! (Insert evil laughter here)
Diablo Immortal was a miscalculation.
WC3 should have stayed dead
The last patch WoW got was… maybe a test?
According to the fact that we learn from our mistakes, OW2 should be tip-top
Ya where did that social feature go?!! Jeff was all hyped about it and literally it’s gone and unless they are going to implement it later into the launch of OW2 then why did they waste their time prepping the game for it and putting in LFG and endorsements (which I still believe are the most pointless things)
OW2 is just another pathetic cash grab from Activision. They’re gonna hype it up this year, get a bunch of dumb kids to pre order and the game will launch with a shortage of content. No I will not be buying it and I will never give another dime to Activision. The gaming industry has become a cesspool of corporate greed and it will continue as long as people continue to support it. There needs to be a point where you stop supporting this crap. That’s the only way we’ll see change. How many times are you willing to get screwed over? How many of your favorite developers are you willing to watch get destroyed by corporate greed before you say no and stop feeding the beast? RIP bioware, Bethesda, bungie, blizzard. They all made a deal with the devil and he sucked the life out of them.
I stopped playing Overwatch back in early 2017. When they announced that OW2 would be bringing story mode that got me interested in the game again. Yeah, sure, PvP can be fun at times, but from my short time here on the forums it is clear that people are frustrated with the game in its current form. This is all problems that come from PvP.
PvE has me very excited. Heroes with custom abilities, leveling them up, unlocking stuff by playing PvE. OW has 31 heroes so far, each one will have their own unique abilities. This is without even considering future heroes and “other ways to level up”. That alone seems like a lot of content.
I’m all for new PvP stuff as well, but I am not like a lot of people here (who feel very strongly about PvP and game balance) so I can see why people would rather they scrap PvE and OW2 and just release new maps and heroes right now and fix the game that currently exists, not spend time on a game that isn’t live yet.
that was my concern as well but they don’t like player opinion anymore so.

edit: i wont be touching OW2 for at least a month or two after release depending on if it’s even worth checking out and isn’t a total disaster like WC3… idk man…
Sorry but Jeff can’t promise to do that, the team can’t patch bad players.
Listen, imho, I think the Pve story will suck (that’s just my opinion), I think the gameplay will be great.
But overall - I do not agree that it should be free, since I know that if it was any other company in question - they would charge just the overwatch 2 pve as a single video game for the price of a full video game.
It’s polished and worth too much as a game and work to be free.
I honetsly can’t even compare small indie games with Overwatch PVE, are you kidding me? Small indie companies couldn’t even dream of making one single overwatch pve level with the polish/acting/long-term gaming design Blizzard is making it.
Name one indie game that looks even similar to OW2
They are not making them “compatable” per-say, they are just upgrading the engine on 1 and calling it 2
I’m fairly sure these two entirely different teams.
The overwatch team had little to no involvement in the botched launch of W3R.
Please correct me if I’m wrong though.
Faith is for Religion and Names while video games are for consuming.
If it is a solid, full single-player campaing, ok, charge full price for it and no problem.
But OW2 won’t be a full single player campaing, Jeff said it will be a collection of co-op missions, similar to Archives.
You are right, in Storm Rising, Blizzard recycled the enemies from Retribution, a small indie would at least recolor them…
Why not? I am not saying that they are bad, but they are not ultra-complex either…
I can’t, OW2 has not been released yet…
Anyway, call Blizzard a small indie company is a meme because:
1- Lack of new content for OW1.
2- Recycled events.
3- “Why are focusing in OW2, so OW1’s new content release will slow down” (implying that is not enought devs to keep up OW1 and OW2).
4- Slow balance patches.
Etc…
Not in the slightest, in fact I would say I am all the more excited. I imagine relaunching is a money grab that was relatively easy to produce. since a lot of their games have been relaunched recently my guess is that they have really been pressing their resources into something much bigger. I think OW2 is that big thing.
I’d say its been soured way before that.
Arent the teams separated anyways? It wouldn’t make sense to put someone who knows MMO level design into a FPS design situation.
He can minimize the reliance on them.
That’s not Overwatch 2, nobody got charged for playing storm rising and other pve events.
So you are saying that in video games, only single player campaigns are worth money, replayable co-op missions aren’t? And you are also stating that overwatch 2 hero missions + story missions wouldn’t be charged or sold as a fully fledged games by other companies, and that other companies make those + make them better? Do you have any examples of those games by indie companies?
Name one first person shooter more complex than overwatch in terms of gameplay? I have yet to see an Fps with that amount of hero abilities, maps and animations.
Just like Christmas and thanksgiving in real life, amIright? X) (No wait, those actually cost me money every year)
Why would they make content for 2 different engines, instead of focus all content for the upgraded one that is going to become default in the future anyway.
I never have faith in anything Blizzard announces. Won’t be disappointed that way.
I’m not saying they are the same team but the overall board is probably the same for who makes calls on what is and is not in the game and what to and not to invest time in.
Overwatch is not F2P, and those events, pve or not, are part of OW1.
No, but single player campaings are more valuable than co-op missions for 3 reasons:
1- Single player campaings are bigger than co-op missions, so more play time for players (and yes, campaings are replayable).
2- Due their bigger size, they demand more work to be made than co-op missions, so is fair charge more for them.
3- If a company produces a single player campaing game and close its doors, I still have a game, if a company produces a co-op game and close its doors and/or turn off its servers, I have nothing.
I don’t know.
I thought we were discussing maps, but anyway, Palandins (maybe not animation and maps, but their gameplay is far more complex than OW).
Because they still have a game running in the old engine, and once this game is a 100% online game/live service, it demands constant updates and new content.
Ditto!!! I no longer trust this company, and that’s sad.
Corp greed has destroyed gaming
Sadly, it indeed has.
