Green Boxes Upper Left Corner

Freshly built PC
No 3rd party overlays installed/enabled.
AMD Ryzen 3400G w/ integrated graphics.

Since 2 days ago my son’s Overwatch account has had these tiny green boxes in the upper left corner of the display. Whenever the mouse moves the FPS drops dramatically and the numbers of boxes increases from 1 to 4. I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of them including:

Resetting all Overwatch settings via in game Options
Trying all 3 different display mode types (Full-Screen, Windowed, Borderless)
Open task manager and ending processes at random to see if anything changes
Logging into his windows account on a different PC (the problem does NOT happen on another PC)
Logging into his BNET account on the same PC with a different windows account (Problem does not happen in this scenario).

Basically the issue is isolated to his specific windows account on his specific PC. Any suggestions on what else to try?

Howdy!

I would recommend to first try seeing if you can disable background applications following the steps Here. Then restart the PC to get into this mode. After that retest. If this fixes the problem then it’s a third party application running on the system. If the problem continues we would like to see a screenshot. You can upload the screenshot to a site like Imgur.com then link it back here following the example below:

I was able to get this resolved with selective startup. As it turns out this seems to be some sort of service for AMD. Posting screenshots in case this helps anyone in the future.

thank you that fixed it, also disabling “AMD external events utility” fixed a visual bug i had with mei. When i frost an enemy there was no “ice” visual effect.
