Nah what Bastion needs is:
- Sentry spread buff
- Faster tank transformation (1.5 sec and immobile is too cumbersome)
- More ammo in recon
- More armor/health in tank mode
If this comes at the cost of only being able to heal in Recon mode, so be it.

Sentry mode Bastion, when properly built around, can be a nightmare to try and deal with. You’d need some serious barrier-busting power or a hyper-mobile team that can get in behind him faster than the enemy team can react.
Or just play Orisa and float a graviton bubble through Bastion and yank him off the cart.
Or suicide a Junkrat ontop of him.
That doesn’t change the fact that giving Bastion any mobility in Sentry mode is a stupid idea that negates one of those as a counter.
Add on the fact that he has 20% damage resistance already in sentry mode. This scoot ability just feels so unnecessary. The last thing anyone wants is a fast-moving bastion in sentry mode that have damage resistance.
That’s the whole point of the Scoot ability. Bastion won’t need to be babysat anymore now that he can defend, and quickly resposition himself.
This can be a seperate patch on console only. Tracer, and Genji will still be a hardcounter because aiming is more difficult for Bastion shooting a high speed target using a controller.
If they also add an AYYYOOO voice line when he does the Scoot, I am all for it.

This is a interesting idea, it would help Bastion’s pickrates for sure (because pickrates are all that matter apparently) but it removes the designed drawback of immobility while in Configuration: Sentry, I can see it being op in certain circumstances, like a Rein shield dropping while the enemy targets Basion and he just scoots around a corner and is safe with his team. I like it, though.
Do you really think people are going to stop running Shielded Bastion when he’s given a scoot? If anything a scoot will just buff Bastion against his primary counters in that situation.

That literally sounds like the people who “don’t know” need to just git gud. If you don’t know how to counter a Phara she can be a monster too so learn how.
Since Symm is losing Projected Barrier after her rework, do you think it would be useful on Bastion to help him push forward into Sentry spots and/or delay peak shooters?

Fact of the matter is that Bastion right now is crap in both forms.
Give bastion a scout ability that uses the bird!
Imagine being able to aim and fire his rifle independently of his sentry gun by using the movement buttons to aim it and the jump/crouch buttons to fire/reload
It would probably be really hard to be accurate with it but it would certainly increase his sentry mode skill ceiling
