Getting placed in SA servers while NA based?

Title briefly explains the issue I’ve run into since last night (my friend has also reported having the same problem).

I’m based in North America (as is aforementioned friend), and I understand that under the Regional drop box on the battle.net program “Americas” encompasses NA, LA, and SA.

I just don’t understand why I’m getting placed in SA servers with 150+ latency when I’m sure there are more than enough available NA servers and players to be matched with. A different friend hasn’t had this issue and has been placed in NA servers as per usual with the lowest ping possible.

Help?

Hey veloura,

We have received similar reports and it seems like it’s related to school / university networks. This is something we are investigating but if possible, try testing a different network, such as a mobile hotspot.
