It’s not fun, I’m nowhere at that level, so why do I have to lose so many matches to people so far beyond my rating?
Who actually thinks the MM is working well in this game??

Occasionally you get a good close match, but they are getting fewer and farther between.

I’m pretty sure quick play didn’t get any changes at all the past few seasons. It’s always been about competitive but I don’t like being forced to play maps I don’t like or payload being longer. We’re pretty much told to just get used to it because the mm is awful
It’s all stomps, one way or the other.
Usually I’ll lose 5 or 6 in a row, then play my a$$ off and carry a win (almost impossible as a support) - which breaks the cycle and I get set up with amazing teams for a few rounds.
Could have someone with similar MMR to them on your team. QP is crazy though

From the result it definitely didn’t seem that way. I was the only person (Lucio) who killed their GM Tracer (of course they’re playing Tracer).
Deal with it or leave, those are your only two options and it will never ever change hence why complaining is useless.
Start learning from their tactics and improve.

Yo I’ve seen far more people in Diamond/Top 500 tags this season than in my entirety playing this game, it’s nuts. I don’t want ranked QP, but good god man, that’s brutal to walk into a game and see.

Yeah, I don’t know that I see them on my teams, but obviously you can only see some players profiles.
Maybe if they showed the team’s ratings I’d get a sense of how and why this is happening.
When I lose 5 or 6 in a row without any chance of a decent match, I just log off and don’t want to play for a few days.

Maybe play comp for fair matchmaking?
QP isn’t exactly what you play when you want a balanced game.
man that last part has been me this week. I want to learn new heroes and just get brutalized.
Literally because it’s QP. QP has unlimited grouping and probably wider MM ranges in general, so you can have pretty much anyone in your games. Some bronze guy can queue up with his GM friend no problem.
If you want a more fair environment you should play comp. If you want QP MM to be like comp MM it’d almost be the same as comp now that QP has leaver penalties, the only difference being that you don’t play both sides in payload modes lol
The weird part here is Hugz sounds like they play at a mid-range MMR. Maybe below that, either way the largest portion of the playerbase is in that same MMR. It doesn’t make sense for Hugz to be filled into games that are well outside their MMR when there are ample players around their MMR that the matchmaker could pair up with and ship the match.
It makes sense that my MMR with a billion hours and 40+ seasons in gm would require the matchmaker to start reaching wide to find a game quickly.
So why is Hugz getting thrown into games that they feel are like are well beyond them? That’s assuming that these players are actually far above their MMR. It’s also entirely possible they aren’t and Hugz is just getting the standard 5v5 tendency toward lopsided stomps.
Only Blizzard really knows though and what it boils down to is that OP is not having a good time in these games.

I figure I’m probably a gold player, maybe low plat at my best role. Players with those titles seem to be fairly frequent in my QP games and do well in those matches - they don’t dominate.

yeah that’s where I fall as well, yet I still see these crazy mfers running amuck 
My Ana friend and I as Kiriko spent a whole match harassing a Top 500 Widow instead of healing because of it and this MFer had a pocket mercy, like why do you need it at that level. XD
It happens sometimes.
Maybe it’s just that there are not enough players at that level at the moment.
It doesn’t last long tho. After some games, if you lose them badly, you will be back at your level.

That’s the thing, all we can really do is either say “yeah, it’s bad, I feel the same” or, this is me, “idk it’s usually fine in my games”. Both are equally useless, but hey, we’re all here wasting our time in these forums anyway
