Genuine question for Moira mains

DPS healer with strong healing albeit her overall damage potential is actually pretty mediocre, but it’s consistent nonetheless.

She’s basically the self-sufficient option for healers and has some of the most interesting character design.

Translation: Moira is braindead yadda yadda I play heroes that require mechanical skill and cd management and idk why anyone would prefer to play Moira over the heroes I like!

I can try to fight off Genji & Tracer and can survive a Doomie flank when my teammates won’t peel for me.

Which is usually the case in QP. lol

I see high healing numbers, ability to finish off low HP targets, and a cooldown ability that counters Doomfist.

I like Moira because I can play her when i’m completely black out drunk seeing quadruple and my face is planted in the middle of my keyboard.

I like playing Moira for how high her amount of heals per game are. I like to heal :3

You can assume what you want but nowhere did I say that I dislike moira because she is braindead. I just don’t prefer her because in my experience she is just a healbot. The heroes I prefer dont all require crazy mechanical skill, something you would know if you read my post honestly. I just want genuine answers not passive aggressive misinterpretations of my original post.

Quite simple for me: You feel powerful playing her.

Shes a support, but can deal a hella ton of damage if she wants to. And Coalesence is a support ultimate that deals damage too.

Fade is basically a double edged sword version of Guardian Angel: You have good survivability and mobility with it, as well as able to use it independently, but it has a longer cooldown and you can’t do anything other than move whist Faded.

And she’s a bomb scientist that made one of the greatest discoveries in decades:

She added. Healing effects. To bouncy balls :laughing:.

But no, she’s probably the only support hero where you feel powerful anymore. You play Moira and you get value regardless. Sure, people use that as an excuse to slag her off for being brainless, but Moira isn’t supposed to be a stupidly hard, perfect aim kinda gal. She’s there to do her job, do it well, and with ease. She says it herself:

‘It is not my preference to see to matters personally, but I will see them done’

She ain’t the time for her teams crap. She doesn’t want in, but she’ll do her job, and get out ASAP, and back to the lab.

And if that’s not relatable, I dunno what is.

Well the thread just gloats about mechnical aim / cd management and then belittles Moira players.

Try being nicer next time.

Quote where I gloat or belittle Moira players. You are the only one so far that has interpreted it this way so I guess you are just misunderstanding/projecting. The only reason I made this post was because Moira has been one of the most popular supports (like top 2) for a long time and I was curious why.

it really did have that tone and for a bunch of people what get berated for being “braindead” that’s like asking to get called out.

But Moira is more about awareness and creativity than mechanics. And I think that’s something people forget.

All I said was that I don’t see the appeal and said what I prefer. I never called her braindead or said that shes lame because she doesn’t require mechanics. Winston is easily my favourite hero and hes one of the most mechanically forgiving heroes in the game. I prefer Mercy more than her and Moira is arguably more mechanically demanding.

Imo she’s just always a solid pick. I personally feel like I do a better job with a lot less stress than I do when using other supports (I play all of em about equally).

  • She’s effective at healing a lot of allies consistently at once, as she doesn’t need to use an ability that’s on cooldown like nade/amp it up/regen burst.

  • Orb helps with target prioritisation as you can tackle 2 problems in different directions at once. eg. Heal tank in front of you with primary, use orb to heal a DPS on high ground.

  • I feel less team-dependent playing her. She allows you to handle things yourself if you keep getting harassed in the backlines. Other supports have defense mechanisms too, but Moira has a really good escape ability and more forgiving aim. It’s fun to fight flankers with her, annoying when I’m Zen.

  • Her ult is a good “GO” signal to help when your team’s stuck at a choke.

please don’t get mad at me I’m just sayin how I feel :frowning:

You’re good bud. I don’t have a reason to be mad with anyone, especially someone that just gave their honest opinion.

Also…the gameplay loop of relying on random people to peel and help with flankers got old suuuuuper fast, and Moira gets them the heck away. Flankers just were too favored for my tastes, she provides an option that better matches what their capabilities and privileges in ow.

I’d say flankers aren’t really an issue right now since dive is pretty dead outside of organized play, but I understand what you mean. sometimes zen v tracer/genji can get annoying if you cant reliably win the matchup and your team or other support aren’t peeling effectively.

I’m by no means a Moira main but I pick her because she’s simply easier to use than any other support, if I had a rought day and just want to turn my brain off, I pick her
