Genji reflect is dumb

Punished for being closed enough to someone to kiss them!?!? It is exactly where he need to be to be vs most of heros except for few matchups.

He dashes through you. The only time he’s close enough to kiss you really is if he’s using blade and if he deflects during that he loses blade time. He never needs to be within another character’s melee range on purpose outside of that I don’t think.

Also, you can melee kill enemies through shields. Rein, Brig. Through a shield that stops bullets and explosives.

Using logic, you could say that Genji is using the law of equalling forces…?

Reinhardt may be striking once with a force of X, but Genji is striking with a force of Y. Genji is striking Z times in that fraction of time to equal the a force of X.

Y × Z = X, in this instant.

You don’t know what parry means and it shows.

Deflect isn’t OP because it rarely makes a big difference, but it’s awful game design. Getting your ultimate countered and getting killed by Gengus cheap short cooldown as reaper, phara, mccree etc. just because a genji happened to be there is just lame. (And before some delusional genji main says it, no it does not take skill to press a button and point at a stationary target.)

Melee range is the best position of all to try to burst out targets. Is the most efficient position to land all 3 shurikens of RCB.
Good Genjis aim the right place on the ground to shorten the dash to land exactly in front of the target or exactly behind them at face to face distance to RCB and melee.

Yes indeed a reflect is not a shield. If shields would stop melee they should stop people too from going through. The heck guys pls! I know that everybody hates Genji, who does not, but build up a dialogue with a minimum of causae cognitio.

Yes this was clear. It was indeed the only thing he actually proved.

This is something I meant to imply by calling it a personal defensive tool. The range DM has, which is its main advantage, elevates it above being just a “personal” defensive tool, its a reliable defensive for your entire team. The shorter range that deflect has and, like I mentioned before, the added protection on the sides that DM lacks, makes it more suited for personal use.
The idea was essentially “if you changed just the way the ability behaves”. Maybe I should’ve said exactly that.

For your 2nd point(s), there is actually a CD when you turn it off, albeit a short one. It only lasts 50% longer from full. It takes 6 seconds to fully recharge from 0 vs deflect’s 8 seconds, so not 3x as fast. It doesnt eat sig rock.
However, as a resource rather than a cooldown, it is available more often and more flexible, which is its only other advantage as a defensive tool.

The fact it can be used offensively is part of the reason why I called it a “better personal defensive tool” than DM. Its also part of the reason its arguably better than all those other abilities you listed except wall and tp.

Respectfully, its not. Genji can be easily countered, and can still be destroyed with a full charged Zar or a sombra. Let him have his deflect

Yes, it would had been more clear.

You are actually right, my bad. I thought it still was like in the beta testing where they decided to extend the DM duration to 4 seconds.

Could be, but if we talk of mere survivability i think that those i cited are better.

she can turn and nade her feet 100% of the time even if genji is melee range

IMAGINE being trash to a genji on sombra.

Melee should be an option when countering Genji 100%.

If you played OW long enough you’ll know that those nerfs do nothing to him, especially the ammo reserve one. In the context of OW 2 he remains besically unscathed

no its not, just get better at the game

skill issue. don’t shoot while he reflects.

I like how he can deflect a black hole but cannot deflect Sigma’s rock.

Ever since they made it manually cancellable and increased it’s duration it feels pretty much unreactable.
