i can’t understand people who don’t see that.
you could remove double jump from genji and he would be just as good as he is now.
if you remove deflect from him he would be a normal hero with a good ult.
if you remove the dash reset on assist and make it only on final blows he would be a normal hero aswell that can still get that insane mobility when played well.

because he wouldnt be good
no he has too much mobility for free, essentially he can throw a random right click and hit some enemies and when those enemies dies from anything he gets a free dash reset, that’s like moira getting free fade resets off of her damage orb.
insanely broken mechanics.
another thing that people don’t even consider being broken is cancelling deflect with dash, that’s also broken mechanic.
that would be like if symmetra could charge up orbs at the same time as she used her beam or if mei could do icewalls while in iceblock.

genji needs to master that mobility to get up close
u can dash control to get into the best position that allows you to do youe job
that position requires thinking and getting into it requires commitment
youre actually thinking one dimensionally. remember how bad zaryas ult was when everyone could just get out of it with movement abilities?
it would be the same for genji blade if everyone could just run away with movement abilities. one to get in position. one to chase those who run.

genji doesn’t even need to be upclose to be deadly but he can be.
deflect an ultimate? deflect a sniper shot? deflect a whole teams fire?
throw left clicks?
why does he need a dash even when he got double jump and wall climb?
oh right so he can kill everything all over the entire map with it.
there’s a reason why zenyattas and lucio try their very best to charge their ult, it’s to save their team from an ultimate that just kills everything no matter where you are.
so give reaper 200 movement speed while using deathblossom?
reaper kills omni directional and kills fast enough to kill anything before it can get out of his deathblossom
genji has to find a target track them, and be mechanically good enough to kill them with his ult.
you can stun a reaper and his ult is over, you can block his ultimate with a shield, you can’t do that against a genji ult, nuff said.

“nuff said” genji cant kill in every direction at once. genji requires you to be mechanically good, and think while using the ult.
reaper requires you to press q in an area.

It’s true, without reseting it would completely kill Genji. He needs to move from target to target.
Atm if he dashs in and you move away, he’s completely stranaged and can’t do anything. There’s no form of long range attack. So if you remove the rest, he would get a kill. And then just kinda stand still doing nothing.
It would be like removing Tracers blinks and expecting her to still dive back line. Just isn’t possible.

If he needs his reset, then his hitboxes on abilities should match the animations.
This is called ‘being skilled in Genji’s ult’. like or lump it. The only person whose ult is actual garbage that hinders mobility in such a massive way is McCree’s.
genji can kill in in a large cone just as big as a reinhardt swing infront and even to the sides of him which is about as large as reapers ultimate in one direction, essentially half the size of reapers ult and it goes through shields.
genji doesn’t even have to consider to wait out stuns or cc’s at all to do his ultimate or even how to get close, he just pops it and does it.
they pushed you back? oh wait you can just dash back in.

rienhardts swing isn’t half the size of reapers ult. so false again.
LUL you must be no higher than gold if you think this. genji pops ult in front of McCree while he has stun and hes going to be flashed and headshot before you can swipe once.
and you can just be shot while traveling in a straight path by any competent player on the way back in.

Which is where the Nano part of it comes in? Even a stupid Gold can tell you that if you’re constantly dying during your ults as Genji, chances are you’re not meant to play Genji the way you want.
Also, a lot of people dislike Genji’s wipe everything out ult so of course he’s going to be targeted.
if you are constantly being team killed by a genji, your either facing a smurf, or playing terribly. im a gm genji main, and I cant constantly team wipe. because the enemy thinks when I blade.

reapers ult is 8 meters aoe. essentially half of genjis big swing. genjis slash is actually a little bigger than half reapers ult. sooo…

oh yeah hitting a target that travels 14 meters in 0.4 seconds can be hit, it’s 20 times easier to hit a guardian angel mercy which pro’s have difficulty hitting.
