Genji is back to square one with these nerfs

Uhm, they’re in his kit to keep him alive longer. Same difference.

But I guess it’s clear you want to cherry pick here and there, so I don’t see the point of this. It’s obvious you only want Genji to be the most viable DPS. Luckily the devs and community aren’t as biased as you or or we’d be screwed.

Pro tip : Don’t engage with dash. Use it as a finisher or escape

Plus : Misuse of dash in a disadvantageous situation should punish Genji

Probably your argument: Well, Genji is useless then since he will get shot down if he approaches enemy without using dash

My response : switch out to a hit scan if team composition or map is unviable for GenjI

the thread is literally suggesting nerfs…

Actually worse than square one and much much more clunky, nothing like playing a flanker/duelest (his job) that wont be able to get a pick on a backline healer and feed them continuos ult charge so that they consistently shut down your ult no matter how well ya play.

As a genji main with over a hundred hours, i can firmly tell you that the spread buff is NOT enough to compensate for the firerate speed nerf AND the damage nerf. I will, mark my words, rather take the spread buff away(and maybe deflect cancel too) over the firerate nerf and the damage nerf. I was doing fine with him before the spread buff, and i will do fine after the spread nerf. i wont do fine with the firerate nerf.

“Uh yeah, the stuff that makes Genji broken? Don’t nerf that, he needs that to be the top dog. Nerf the stuff that doesn’t make him broken. That’ll fix him”

It’s ironic because Genji is literally better than he was before he started getting buffs.

Genji needed the dmg buffs imo to keep up with all the dmg creep. They should’ve just nerfed his ult charge because he shouldn’t have a strong base kit and a strong ult that charges fast. Idk If these are the right changes…

At this point id prefer them to just split the game into two different games one side can keep the fast paced always has interaction (fun) and the other slow monotonous gameplay where everyone is forced to just stand near choke while flankers are unable to do what they were specifically designed to do (boring).

Hes pretty much gotten the tracer treatment

I think the only change Tracer ever got was that range buff? Besides that she’s been pretty well balanced since then.

Pulse bomb hardest to land and even if stuck cant really kill anything is what im getting at. Meanwhile ya got junkrat throwin 130dmg shot that lingers/bounces off walls with an ult that has twice the damage, twice the radius, and far easier to land (because of radius) with the least risk.

True. I remember it used to do 400dmg. Idk what it does now but I don’t even remember why they nerfed that???

How is he back to square one?

He got 4 straight up buffs, they’re dialing back one from the last patch and one from the patch way back when.

He still has a tighter spread on his alternative fire, a longer duration on Deflect and the ability to cancel it whenever he wants.

That’s not where he was before. He’s not back at square one.

all this does is decrease his skill floor and makes him no more viable than he was before

That’s what any buff to any hero does, though. Only in this case it did make him overpowered with everything combined lol

The problem is that he was basically tankbusting with that damage, spread tightening and attack speed, and having a tankbuster flanker just isn’t a fair or reasonable situation - its one class doing too many jobs at once without a real downside. My read on the experimental card is that they want Genji to be able to threaten squishies but be limited in utility when it comes to tanks. They aren’t going after the ult because that’s not really the problem - shotgunning into tanks too slow to fight back is the major issue I see with current Genji.

they should’ve undone the deflect duration, and left either the damage or the firerate.

It does 200 dmg now which is terrible and doesnt build up each team fight compared to brigg rally being built each team fight which I consistently have done with with only 30min of prior experience on the character vs my 100s of hours on tracer and 100s of hours on every other character as well.

Brigg ever since her release, moira ever since her release, mei since the game was released.

I guess if you want I can adjust the statement to “doing too many jobs well” if you want. Barring the period over which Brig was ridiculously OP on release and the fact that she’s now required due to Genji, all of them have had extremely limited usefulness across the game. Particularly compared to Genjis straightforward domination of the current game balance.
