The S9 changes have made his blade feel completely useless. It takes three swings to kill someone so it feels mandatory to have nano in order to anything with it. Also with the health changes certain breakpoints just feel so off. Landing all three headshots plus dash used to be able to kill someone but now it doesn’t without the melee. I really wish the devs would do what many players have asked for. Make it so blade can’t be dmg boosted and buff his primary to 30 dmg and his dash to 70 so he can do 250 dmg with all crits + dash. This isn’t even a giga buff but more so putting his breakpoints back to where it was pre S9.
I’m not a Genji main btw. Just someone who enjoys him occasionally and he feels so boring to play rn it’s sad to see.

Genji is very strong right now, low key broken at 250hp. He survives against hitscans where he wouldn’t before, waits for short cooldowns to strike and his hitbox is 3x the size of hitscans. His swing is faster now as well

His hitbox is like… Laughable now. Probably one of the most egregious offenders of the hitbox patch up there with widow.

Regardless, it is related. With hitboxes as they are now, it would be beyond broken if he had any combo resembling what he used to have with enemies at 200 hp. He needs to lose something from his base kit if he’s going to get that sort of burst, be it consistency, be it safety, or be it burst(what he’s lacking now).
I do get where you’re coming from, but Genji has a lot of tools and a lot of options. He feels bad to play because having them takes power from other parts of his kit. The small things that don’t feel satisfying take away from things like a satisfying burst combo.

Nah, the one shot combo just felt like cheese. He’s still incredibly good even with his kit where it’s currently at.
I’m dying to see a single iteration of genji where his M1 is usable for more than just occasional ult charge generation.
Probably the only character in the game who has basically no incentive whatsoever to use their primary fire.

Genji mains:
-When he’s C tier or lower: “Genji is trash, near unplayable.”
-When he’s B tier or higher: “Man, he feels kinda weird to play rn.”
DPS Dooms used to be the same way but I’m pretty sure they all just play Virus now.

Any1 who has atleast 500+ hrs on genji will know how garbage he is, The sweat needed to do anything at all on this character is unreal. 5mins on Genji can be equal to 3 seconds on another character all while being perfectly safe. While genji needs to go head first.
People forget its a Cyborg Ninja, He will be picked no matter what cos hes a cool character, even tho hes garbage. I have over 1k hours on him and he has never felt this bad, but im still loyal to my ninja.

When the green tuna can that is Genji gets the utility he has nerfed, then we will speak about his damage.
He has the most overbloated kit IN THE ENTIRE game, maybe Sigma, but all the double-jumping-deflect-escalatingwalls-Animationcancel thing has to be compensated somewhere else, and that is his damage.
Specially considering that his alternate fire has been brain dead since day one and when his damage was buffed he was broken.
You either increase a little the skill floor changing the way he shoots or his damage cannot be buffed.
In any case, maybe reduce the reload time a little as small buff, because everyone else have been buffed in that department.
Genji can still be a menace, and his blade can still secure kills without nano. Unless Moira is out, he still can add a lot of value to the field.

There is actually a 0% chance he can get nerfed any further, and if he did id just laugh cos it kinda doesnt matter anymore at this point
what i find interesting about these genji posts is that someone expresses concerns about the character and then the next 5 replies, theres always at least one person that says the lines of “he’s broken” and only names like one or two positives while ignoring every other factor. lmao
