I’m usually the type of person the doesn’t really complaint but this has gonne to far, overwatch is forcing me to be on a rank.
Talking about my case, I was bronze 5 but no matter how many 5 wins on a row I got it did not rank me up, I simply passed it has a bug but on the last couple of day I decided to really commit and kept playing even if I kept being placed in bronze 5 with (5-0).
Then I noticed that the game was putting me higher then other players on my rank by about 10% with each placement so after about 35 wins and 3 or 4 losses max I ranked up from bronze 5 to bronze 4.
I even got my hopes up after getting another 5-0 and insta ranking to bronze 3 but then it happened I got a lot of dc’s on my team and got a 5-5 a thought that I would not rank up that time, but it was worse, the game deranked me back to bronze 4.
So I reallized that the game wants to keep my account on bronze, I know that is not my rank, I’vee been playing for years and in an alt account I got ista placed on gold 1, so why is my main forced to be on this rank?
Rank placement and rank adjustments take into account more than just wins and losses, they are also affected by how far apart the ranks are between you and your opponent, how new your account is, and how long ago you last played. Newer players have much more drastic rank adjustments due to the lack of performance history to base initial skill and inactive players similarly have more drastic rank adjustments due to the lack of recent performance history. Both of these are potential explanations as to how players that are grouped and play the same matches can end up with different ranks.
