My daughter came back to OW2 after playing a lot of OW1 but then giving it up. She stopped playing it again the day after she started.
Yesterday she was playing B2 - I think she has about 300 hours on it - and today she was playing the pre-sequel or whatever it is called. She has completed both so many times and still replays them.
OW can only dream of that level of replayability.

Thatâs the main hope we had on the original PvE announcement: That the PvE gameplay would be tweaked just enough to make them fun. Using a rigid skillset balanced for PvP against bots is boring after a while. You need some degree of customization for PvE content.
As a seasonal event? Sure, break the mold a bit, itâs fun for the novelty itself. But I never expected OW2 PvE to be basically Junkenstein on steroids. If you remember the 2019 announcement, they showed us item drops, talent trees, and some really cool stuff that would be freaking unbalanced in PvP but âjust fineâ in PvE.
I canât speak for the new event because I stopped playing the game years ago and do not intend to return until maybe the full PvE launch, if I like what I see. But from the feedback I read, people got burned out of it much faster than people were burned out of Junkenstein (the most basic PvE in OW1) in previous years. My guess is the lack of free skin drops and extremely grindy seasonal challenges for pitiful rewards.
This do not look good for the full PvE launch.

I get the feeling, I do. However⌠when a game ainât fun no more, put it down and play/do something else. Or just play less? Most of us will have a library of other games we can play, I know I do.
Lifeâs to short to stress over an early access release client.

well yeah, im not like that kid above that spends 6hr a day on the game lol. Of course i have other things to do, other games to play. but to call this an âearly access release clientâ is reductionist and absurd. The core gameplay and design is unchanged from 6y ago.
Blizzard themselves stated somewhere this is early access.
"Blizzard confirms Overwatch 2 will replace original game as âEarly Accessâ launch"
Their words, not mine
And from journalist sources, what we have now as OW2 was thrown together in <1 year to get it out of the door before OW1 completely evaporated itâs player base.
it doesnt really matter how long it took to make. considering how few changes there are, it being a year doesnt really suprise me. In the end, all that matters is the quality of the game, and right now for me its worse than it was after 2y of stagnation.

Absolutely agree with you on this sentiment. If OW1 was still up, Iâd be playing it over this hot mess.

In one of his chats, Aaron implied that PvE might be released in some sort of staggered fashion. He even suggested that we might play missions in comp rotation. I canât remember the exact wording, but it made me pause when I heard it.
Most high-elo players would only want to play against other humans so Iâm guessing that idea will be dropped before it gets off the ground. It would be nice if it was just another mode that was F2P and missions get released regularly as part of the content releases. But that is unlikely.
shows already they want to milk milk milk and not make a great game, aaron is so easy to read.
You mean The âwe work on Netflix Series like 3y and will come soon!â About diablo and overwatch?
Wish was true but I think It was more like âwe could working on thatâ but it leaked âwe working on thatâ.
Shouldnt we get like trilers or something?
Im more intrested in Diablo story but TBH I rylly wanna see Diablo in that dark anime style that some fan made for diablo 3 and overwatch should be the cgi one.
Yes, but you see why? this feature was in the game back in OW1. So why remove it?
What improved in OW2 with its removal?

bro wtf are you trying to say
I play solo ladder. So basically Iâm supposed to play the game and just lose every time? Then tell the players â4+ players requiredâ just like they do on board games and be done with it so we donât waste our time and money.

All im glad for is that there are more people to play custom games with. This game is such a fiesta, at least custom games dont hide that and lets you embrace it.
I solo carry as junkrat for the most part cause the matchmaking is absolute garbage compared to the first game
Good point. Maybe they should implement a âTrade Rolesâ feature between teammates instead.
You know, like when you and Tommy were sitting at the lunch table in elementary school and you felt pretty powerless over your lunches. But you could at least trade the disgusting sandwich your half-assing mom packed for his nice looking apple.
Consensual role-swapping is all good between friends.
Let us all just take a big old break from this madness of a game. Play something else and show them that, we will not waste our time on people that want us to harm. We should be treated better then this. Blizz is no longer that wonderful place to call home anymore.

I want to like OW so bad. I really do. Coming back after a couple week break of playing other titles makes it feel like such bland corpo sludge wallpaper paste.
The intent was to create a game where you can have individual impact, but the reverse was achieved. OW2 punishes uncoordinated play even more than OW1 did. I stopped playing because Iâm sick of playing an uncoordinated team into a coordinated one and getting wrecked over and over and over. The solo queue experience is miserable.

well i said it already after 4 games on the first beta. having the clown on the team now is worse than it was in ow1.
