Was backfilled in 6v6 game on Paraiso on attack as a tank in the middle of a game, instantly went from over 120 fps to 7!!! (On the next game everything was fine on other map) was impossible to coordinate, aim…you know(
Asked in team chat if anyone have the same issue, 3 people said it’s fine for them and at the end 2 other blamed me that I play terrible (i just tried to spam my skills out of desperation)…and they didn’t see that I was screaming for help cause it was impossible to play (ofc we lost)
Thought it was dps cheating on the enemy team as I herd simmilar stories how cheaters cause lags for the whole lobby/players, but maybe that was server side issue? As i saw on reddit someone had the same thing and also on Pasaiso (but they were duo - so for 2 people from different countries)

Check your temperatures in your PC and for any background tasks like updates. Sounds like your PC is thermal throttling when overheating.
When people say cheaters lag lobbies, they mean they lag the server, not the client. That’s network related, everyone starts floating or freezing on your screen, ping goes up, but your FPS is fine.
temperature was average for using OW + chrome ( i cheked it)
no backgroud updates ( steam was closed, nothing for windows, notging from wacom or adobe as i monitor them)
It was directly issue only in that game - from start to finish.

maybe it appeared only now cause +2 additional players in lobby for updated ow2 game engine that was not prepared for it in the first place
we suspect it is this. backfill in 5v5 modes is fine. but usually 6v6 mode backfill has 7 fps. also u may notice all kinds of SIM (300ms) and if you check network overlay (CTRL-SHIFT-N) you will see client is just broken while it is collecting all kinds of telemetry data and sending it to bnet/msft.
the telemetry part is a bit scary. almost like some dxdiag/debug is happening.
why are they collecting our io data? trying to figure out how much aim-rigging and lag compensation 6v6 needs?
my guys have screenshots of it happening several times. it’s a meme in the discord channels and on reddit. it’s posted in bug report forums. makes 6v6 backfill a total risk and waste of time. needs fixed asap.
Since 6v6 isn’t the standard mode the OW2 engine was built for, it’s more likely they have some kind of debugging enabled to collect more performance data rather than some nefarious reason. There’s no need to immediately jump to conspiracy theories behind every little thing.
It’s a “meme”. If it were a major issue that was plaguing everybody regularly, you’d be seeing articles bashing it all over the place.
there are at least 6 bug report threads on the issue that is only the first page of search
whoa data collect? how do i opt-out of that while still being able to play?
are gamers made aware the game is mining them?
i thought the 6v6 internal playtests were long since done…and that’s why we waited so long for a polished 6v6 ?

that’s kinda toxic. we want what is best for the game and identifying suspicious bugs is important. 6v6 data can be scrapped with just how many bugs are live rn.

All insides were checked this summer and thermopast was replaced, it’s ok (+ additional plank was added for Photoshop so now it’s 32)
All drivers are constantly updated - my husband helps with it, windows had update on this or last week? nvidia also recently
Network is perfect, never issues with it exept this exact game (yeah and we live in Kharkiv lol)
After reading all examples and people experience with this matter, I would disagree that’s it’s from my side as it’s perfectly fitting with exact game lobby issue, so it’s game engine struggling with 2 additional players and it only appears on backfinning games
cause I NEVER had tecnical issues with ow, it was always smooth from 2017 year for me, and I play almost every day
and all other 7 games that evening were perfectly fine with 140 fps, 80C and 45 latency
