just about 40 mins or so ago , after playing a handful of games Overwatch crashed when joining a map. relaunched the games and agin it crashes when the “entering map name”.
this has never happend before and now for the last 40 min its happening often.
i was able to get 2 more games in after a “fix files” scan then it crashed again .
it crashed about 6 times now .

Scan and Repair the game. If this does not solve the issue, try reinstalling. Finally, if those don’t help, report the issue in Bug Report. Players in this forum cannot pass crash reports on to developers.
its happening to alot of people. its on blizz end. iv been in 4 grps today and happens to every single person and diffrent times of the day. take it to the top boys. #HORDE4LIFE
Exact same thing happened to me. Was also in a group, playing QP. and the game would crash when the map started loading every 2-3 matches. Wonder if being in a group triggers it more, because I also saw a few instances of people joining a game and then instantly disconnecting together, but it was always multiples, never a solo player.
I am having the exact same problem, I ruled out game files. I have reinstalled, verified, restarted computer, tried a fresh install of windows. My friend is having the exact same issue and it seems to be random too but also includes on joining in matches.
I wonder whats causing all of this?
Regardless of who is at fault, performing the smallest amount of troubleshooting would be necessary before labeling it a bug.
same here, was in a group with another friend, every other game it would crash right when it tries to load the map, both me and my friend crash at the same time.
Same thing occurred to me. It’s been awhile since I ran into the previous issues with connectivity and I’ve started playing Comp again. Not 3 games into playing today and all of a sudden my game completely crashes during the map loading process.
Character selection was completely fine, not even a hint of high ping, but the map? Suddenly an issue. Worse yet? I got suspended without an option to rejoin after. And just like that Im suddenly reminded of why I dont bother playing Comp on OW anymore.
If its not one thing its another I swear.
