The game should be base on which of these? Often time, it’s one or the other, but not all three. By “fun to play against”, I mean heroes that you don’t mind dying to because it is fair.
For example in my opinion, Hanzo and Mei are fun to play as, but not fun to play against.
Reinhardt is fun to play with, but not fun to play against.
Should we nerf a hero using the excuse of “not fun to play against” and make that same hero less fun to play as?
Shooting the Mercy is too hard for a lot of people. Being the Mercy getting shot at is a nerve wracking experience. Having a Mercy on your team is another excuse to scream when you don’t get rezzed.
You love it when it’s on your team, you hate it when it’s not.
Also as the enemy player, if the Zarya saves a teammate with her bubble, you don’t think it’s cheap or unfair. Nothing in her kit really screams unfair. She has to earn her ult charge, she has to be skilled enough with her bubbles, and her ult requires follow through from her team.
She is Probably the best designed hero in the game imo.
Its good as it is, no need to rework it, the meaning will stay the same. Unfortunately people think that way, and will write everything as “unfun” if it counters them in any way.
I learned to respect pharah when I mained junkrat and (Oh the terror) flexed and let other people play dps too when she countered me. Problem is, some people secretly want to always have the upper hand without giving anyone else in their team a chance.
Well, not now. Think of Overwatch before all these cc. It was only used to shut down flankers/protect himself. He was extremely fair to play against (after fth nerf).
Most unfun character to play against atm would be sombra (although play her). It’s like not being able to play the game.
