This person has more friends than me so they should not be allowed to play the game !

at least try to read the post. I never said that 5 stacks should not be allowed to play, but not against 2 or 3 stacks.

If you stack you can of course also encounter a full stack, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that

Which means they will be waiting a LONG time to play. Basically not allowing them to play.

I’m just one rank below you :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

cool and that is a Problem how? Full stacks have no bussiness playing against 2 or 3 stacks.

Mismatched comps are allowed when

  1. No other available players are within the allowed ping / latency range
  2. The queue timer took a long time and tossed MMR / ELO out the window.
  3. QP is quite generous about wide-matching

Back in ow1 when you could see stacks (i dont play open q so maybe ow2)… my favorite thing was stomping a 6 stack as 6 solos, maybe a duo in the mix. That is in the rare circumstances where my team didnt just quit seeing a stack and thinking that equated to a insta loss.

If people cannot get into matches in reasonable times they will either stop playing or split into smaller groups.

People should not be punished for having friends.

We should be encouraging groups. Not discouraging them.

Why does it even matter?

Literally just make those lines appear again. People get more confident when they knowingly beat stacks.

Stacks only matter in comp and higher up in comp. Most groups of friends can’t remain focused for 5 minutes. What makes you think most stacks just sweat 24/7

To be honest i base this on a sample size of me. But even while my friends and i are stacked they freak out about other stacks lol. Our mics are clogged with complaints vs callouts. Its a mess. When i run solo there are times where i feel like my team and i are mind linked and i know the other team thinks we are communicating. The only communication being the 1 rando unmuting for second to say “sorry im wasted”.

Sure if everyplayer in the group is good, grouping and communicating helps, but its not the only factor in a game.

I firmly believe that a lot of players are bad specifically because they are sheltered from more organized play. Which is why even when just a highly coordinated DUO is on the enemy team they tend to crumble.

If solos fought stacks frequently the playerbase as a whole would improve, along with the experience.

If you want to abuse 5 person coordination then you can wait until you go against another group. Not our problem you’re not getting a quick free win

But it is your fault that you’re insufferable to play with and rude so you can’t accumulate 4 friends just to feel like you can play them.

You not having friends in a “team” game is a skill issue. No reason to balance around it.

Like what makes you think you deserve special treatment just because you choose to play alone?

What does this mean? No need to project why don’t you go against other people with friends then? Even better make a little team and go scrim against other people instead of trying to cheese wins because the matchmaker gives up trying to find a stack.

Imagine thinking the promotion of higher play is abuse.

As it stands, five stack is the best in game experience. Even (and especially) on the losing end.

The problem is that those experiences are to far apart due to queue times and the majority of the playerbase being sheltered from it.

People are opting to prioritize both the ladder grind in comp and the battlepass grind overall over that of the per match experience.

Removing restrictions on stacks vs no stacks would change that over the long term. Allowing people to both grind AND enjoy the per match experience.

How could anyobe think that is a BAD thing?

I wish there was an OPTIONAL solo queue in this game in QP and comp.

I wouldn’t mind even waiting 10 minutes for a match. Better than totally 3 miserable ones.

No idea why that isn’t a thing. In the meantime I take the leaver penalty instead. More fun scrolling my phone and better luck next time.
