yea i kind of hate the 5th edition. i also remember the 2nd edition fondly and i kind of grew up with it… i hated the 3rd edition at first but grew to love it. still my favorite and yea the 5th edition is like standard mmorpg games. kind of reminds me of world of warcraft or something

The pdfs are not hard to get ahold of.
Trust me, it’s the best. I’ve had many players who tried 5th and then played 3.5, and they never went back to 5th.
3.5 gives you more creative character options and there’s TONS of books.

I am currently in three campaigns, yes! Each on alternating weeks.
Also, I said D.Va has to be a Paladin purely because of the mount. 
FIND STEED!!
Also, Path of the Zealot Barbarian Junker Queen purely because they get a shout that buffs their party.

For real. If it weren’t for 5e’s low barrier of entry to welcome new players, and streamlined mechanics to track as the DM, neither my friends nor I would be engaging with DnD at all.
They’re different experiences for different folks. I wouldn’t insist one is objectively better than the other.

I think I’ve played 3.5 once? But it was FF14 based- and it was so confusing to me. xD
I’ve never actually played it for very long, since I left the game because of a particularly chaotic player.
