Lol, I love it. If the people who intend on dpsing tank/support really thought this change will kill game they’d just quit instead of being toxic. The reality is they’re just sore losers who are whining but they still love the game and continue to play. Claiming their going to throw is just a convenient scape goat for them to continue playing.

You’re probably right. But look at it differently. Jeff said Blizz knows your mmr across the roles and hero’s. If you’ve always been battle mercy then yeah, odds are you’ll be fine and Blizz will just say “he’s doing what he always does”. But the people who use to play DPS or supports who crank out 20k heals are suddenly supports getting 20+ kills and no heals Blizz will see this and ban them.

Throwing or not it doesn’t matter. Blizz will see them being DPS supports and ban them. If it’s out of character it’s out of character, the data won’t lie.

  • *I take out my pistol once to spam at a choke while everyone is at full HP.*
  • My team: “Report battle Mercy”.

This really isn’t that hard to understand. Stop playing dumb. We’re now moving into a system where we will have 2 of each role. If you purposely play support as a dps and refuse to heal their is nothing the team can do to make up for this now. You are throwing. You will be reported and hopefully the system can detect this and hopefully these people will be banned.

Don’t be naive. You know there’s a difference and so does Blizz. They likely have dozens of data points to measure for each hero and type. How much did you heal, proximity to teammates, proximity to dead teammates, do you respond to calls for heals, do you hang out in a back hallway, did you spend all match emoting, weapon accuracy, kills, were you just shooting at walls, it’s way more complicated than you’d think. Those that do go battle mercy and are still actually trying to be good teammates will be fine. Those that don’t will probably end up getting banned. Maybe Blizz doesn’t even ban the toxic ones, just flags their account and suddenly you’re getting grouped with other toxic garbage.

Support role. If you can’t support don’t support. If you want dps then you now have the ability to do so while also having a team that will back you up.
