For the last time, the matchmaker system is broken

When I first started they put me around high silver and I was nowhere near that level of skill. I fell to around 600 SR blaming my team along the way because I knew I was slowly improving but somehow still dropping SR like a rock. So how could it be my fault?

Then I discovered the unfortunate truth that most new accounts place around mid gold and that it is impossible to place in bronze. If it would have started me at the bottom I would not have unintentionally thrown so many games on my way down. The whole time thinking I was a silver player because that’s where it put me originally.

Silly me for trusting the game to place me in an accurate rank. And that was back when there were 10 placements instead of 5. So I don’t see how that wasn’t enough sample size for the system to know I was a bronze player.

For the record, I had quite a bit of FPS experience before playing ow too and reached a high level of skill in at least two of those games. So I can easily see how someone like DrDisrespect was stuck in silver. And someone like shroud being plat, arguably one of the greatest fps players of all time? If anything that shows how little previous fps skill translates into a game like overwatch.
