For crying out loud, stop all the loss of hero control

I still think Mei is a skill match up on most of them and I dont see Brig as problematic in a 1v1 scenario it’s more of baiting a CD with block similar to baiting flashbang.

I think your thinking of her as damage when that’s not the role she fulfills (despite the category). She sets up kills for herself and team but isnt always contributing damage, especially not trash damage.

ahh, the holy positioning argument.

give old roadhog back.

Hogs one shot debate is one I never really understood. I get that hook is all he provides and hes kind of selfish otherwise but shouldnt pulling someone far away from there team and (presumably) into yours be enough to kill them regardless if Roadhog was the one with the kill credit?

It wasn’t into yours, what happened was people were Flank Hogging.

You would get a flank, and start pulling people out and killing them.

I was in low ranks at the time, and so wasn’t effected by it, but, boy oh boy, you should have heard the high ranked players cry over it.

He was terrifying. People were just asking for the hook to just kill them when it touched them, so they could get out of spawn faster

yes it should.

Blame mobility for that. “Hook” heroes in other games work perfectly fine without overwhelming damage, but they don’t have to deal with half the cast being able to instantly escape with a low CD mobility ability.

Tracer was never a must pick, but she was devastating in the right hands.

If it were up to me, we would have more heroes with Tracer’s skill floor and ceiling and none with Brigitte’s. If you want to see what the best of the best can do, you need to give them characters with near infinite ceilings.

Literally every OWL game i saw had a tracer on both teams

Positioning is just as important skill as your skill of clicking heads is.

I’ve been plat since comp came out so I remember the cries all to well lol. Personally I do have an issue with a 600 HP flanker with a self heal one shotting me, but I dont if he gets catches me out and punishes me for it.

Why though?

I’m sorry my friend. D:

I think you’re overstating the number of heroes with high mobility. I can only think of the following:

  • Tracer
  • Doomfist
  • Dva
  • Winston
  • Genji
  • Wrecking ball

That’s about a fifth of the roster and most of those are either fine or would only need minor tweaking.

Tracer and doomfist would need the most work. Dva, winston and Genji may be fine. If anything they’d only need minor tweaks. Wrecking ball is fine as he is.

Exactly. a year ago changes could’ve been made that effected 4 heroes but instead we got CC that effects all heroes, and ironically those with no mobility more than the ones you listed.

Agreed. Tracer needs toning down, and Genji’s ridiculous constant double jump needs to go on a cool-down to start. Start here, then we can talk about toning down CC…

Well yes, because Tracer has a very high skill ceiling, so the best players pick her because because she doesn’t cap their ability to influence a match.

There should be more characters like this, not fewer. Ideally, all of the characters would have that same high ceiling so you can see what the pros are actually capable of…

Unless every hero has some sort of fluent, reactive immunity similar to teleporting I don’t see how this would be possible? Or a different perspective is that the ‘skill ceiling’ for a hero like McCree is being able to land constant 140 degree flicks on Tracer, and no one seems to have accomplished that yet… I guess Tracer isn’t as hard to play as some like to think. Teleporting is pretty OP.

6 heroes is the entire support roster we got. Yeah, sure, it would be easy, to change heroes across gameplay categories both on tank and dps side, also Genji “being fine” is wishful thinking of Genji mains. He is more counterable now, but imo no way “fine” without it. The part with “minor tweaks” is wishful thinking either, at best.

Sure, CC was never a thing in this game right from the start, no way.

The point isn’t to be hard to play. Obviously, Blizz want people of all skill levels to be able to play the game against people of the same level.

The point is to design characters that you can both pick up and play at low levels, and not feel limited by at higher levels.

Good examples are characters like Tracer and widow. Brigitte is a bad example, due to low skill ceiling. Sombra is a bad example due to high skill floor.

Ignoring the fact that Tracer was never a must pick, it isn’t “reliable CC” that’s reduced her status. It’s Armor, high sustain, and life saving Burst heals.
