Flexing & Filling Is Bad

I can play ANY hero in plat.

But one tricking Hanzo got me to 3500

Other experiments have involved flexing on both accounts, with both accounts having sometimes a gap of 1000 SR; so it has little to do with flexing, but rather with context, circumstances, not being able to flex to the right pick at the right time, and a lot of other factors imo.

Remember being a good flexer is harder than being an otp, as you need to be as good as an otp, with every pick. So not everyone will be able to climb as a wide flexer. The ones who will tho, will surely secure a very high position.

thats a terrible example. of course someone in a higher rank can play more in a lower rank. I absolutely suck at widow, but in a lower rank I can dominate on widow. it’s not that I’m good at it, it’s just being higher ranked than those you’re playing with. It’s still a bad idea to one trick, sure you can get that shiny number, but your completely inflexible, a hindrance to your team, hell, hanzo was even in the example mentioned.

This can be for a number of reasons:

  • You were new to the game.
  • You haven’t yet found a hero or role you liked.

Has nothing to do with one-tricking. You may be in plat now because you are more aware of the game and what you can do. But there are a lot of one tricks that are GM’s.

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend playing one hero only. Or never playing other heroes. You should play as many as you can to get familiar. But you should at least focus on a role and/or hero type.

The problem is people spout “you should flex”, but then you end up with a tank main playing dps and a dps main playing tank simply because they waited to fill and didn’t pick their main straight away. It’s better to just pick your main first and then adjust if necessary.

And believe me when I say I play nearly every hero in the game. I say nearly because newer heroes come out - but the ones that have been out for a while I have played them 50+ hours each across different accounts and spent time learning their quirks and tricks. It was holding me back.

Unless you have like 500 hours in game across multiple roles!

Still, i don’t think the matchmaker likes flex players. The only time i climb is when i lock one hero and never switch.

Depends on the Player like what? I can play every hero in the game at my rank even it I onetrick them I still get to diamond. But if I start flexing I will lose and drop to plat why is that?
Its not like I stop having impact its just that my flexing allows other to play heroes they would normally not get to play.
Maybe its not as bad on a higher rank but anything below Master is just stupid to flex from my experience.

I’ve been climbing on rank by playing mostly Rein, Ana, and Zarya, with McCree on the side, mccree is my main.

I say flexing is good if you are good on your flex hero just as good as your main.
