Fixing how it feels against "Problem Heroes"

I’m telling you there’s more to game design than squabbling about which of 39 heroes in the game occupy the top pickrates in GM.

almost like you’re simply not liking Ana, instead of finding out that a character is strong

I’m trying to fix large systemic issues.

And you’re trying to derail that.

That’s a long list, but to go through them quickly:

  • agree on tanks passive being less vulnerable to any CC. Big hp helps with increased damage from having huge hitbox but it does nothing to help with CC spam.
  • Suzu and Lamp should be dmg reduction percentage not your 75dmg cap. Many sources of damage like Soldier bullets, Zarya/Sym beams, Bastion turret are high dps low single bullet damage weapons. I want Suzu etc to not be useless against those, just not as good as they are now. And no one Suzus Widow headshots outside of accidents and 1v1, let’s be honest. Dmg reduction is far more versatile and it would still be a huge improvement over having just immortality
  • I like Hanzo having some fall off range potentialy
  • Storm arrow with 3 arrows and 50 dmg is giga trash. Just give him another ability at that point, it would be a joke.
  • agree on Widow grapple change
  • Junk changes maybe are fine but he would have to get buff to his primary fire speed. If you want less AoE then it needs to be better at landing directs. He already is one of the worst heroes in the game, nerfing him further would be a joke
  • similar to Junkrat, Pharah would have to get increased projectile speed to make up for less AoE damage
  • Cass grenade needs scraping imo, your change makes it even worse than it is currently and it’s pretty garbage ability already against most matchups in the game. Agree on bettter range, not sure about 10 meters though. Don’t make him a sniper please
  • Mercy dmg boost change is very niche. Why headshots only? What pisses me off more is how lethal stuff like Sojourn and Soldier get with bodyshots with some dmg boost. They are already at the edge by default and dmg boost makes them insane.
  • Mercy GA change sure but only if you nerf the buffs to easiness of use from OW2. Her GA is far stronger than OW1 so increased cooldown makes sense
  • Bastion changes I don’t care about to be honest
  • Orisa Gallop seems cool. Primary fire changes bizzare. Again, why only headshots? Either make a change to her whole weapon or don’t touch it. Long range headshots are more luck than skill at further ranges with projectiles anyway. You can move out of the way easily. Most of your headshots are at close range, no matter what hero you play and unlike high burst like Kiri or Hanzo, lucky Orisa headshots don’t kill people. It’s not enough burst
  • idc about Sym to be honest
  • LW and Brig not being able to use some abilities through shields makes sense to me
  • agree on Sombra changes but I personally would like to see permament invis and hacking from invis gone entirely with buffs to the rest of her kit
  • Genji mostly cares about his alt fire. Buffing primary is something literally no one cares about unless it would be a BIG buff. I’m talking like +10 damage so now it’s interesting if you want to use left click or right click. Genji only uses left click to poke, it’s harder to land and it’s less dps than right click. +2 dmg on primary fire alone is doing literally nothing outside of building blade slightly faster
  • agree on Rein pin change. It was dumb to nerf it to 225

Because the idea is ā€œMake it so that Orisa wants to get into close rangeā€
And consistently landing headshots is easier with a spread projectile weapon with at close range.

Rather than just sit back and shoot at distance.

Also headshot damage doesn’t apply to barriers. So it’s less of a Rein barrier shredder.

I think they really want something that blocks things like Junkrat Tires.
But not have it interrupt ā€œNormal Gameplayā€.

Orisa already wants to close the distance, she just sucks at it. She can beat pretty much anything in the game at close range with her cooldowns. She pokes from range because she can’t easily close the distance. If you could Gallop at people she would absolutely decimate people and she would probably need nerfs to her survability.

Way too niche to design abilities that do nothing but prevent some ultimates. Most ults aren’t even that high burst damage, they are high dps. It wouldn’t help against Visor, Blizzard, Grav Dragon and so on. Tire has enough drawback as it is, you don’t need Lamp to not die to Tire. Something like 50% dmg reduction would help a lot in duels but they wouldn’t save people who are 30hp. You would have to use them proactively, making them easier to bait out. Then they could be put on lower cooldowns (at least Lamp, I think Suzu should remain around 12-14s cooldown as long it has a cleanse effect as well).

I’d argue that’s a cooldown thing.

But also the 75 number is just a placeholder.

For example, let’s say they cut that down to 30.
