Fish - Latency/Disconnects

Just played two games where I had issues, the first game I got disconnected completely but forgot to run WinMTR. The log for the second game is below. I just played the game (so around 10:30PM PDT) which is definitely not during peak hours.

To expand a bit more on my issue, my entire desktop seems to loose internet connection during these lag spikes. I’ll have a download running in the background or a Twitch stream open on my other monitor and the stream will start buffering and then suddenly start working again once I am disconnected from my OW match or my connection to the match comes back (but at an insanely increased ping). Also note that I work from home and have no internet issues throughout the entire day. I only seem to have issues when OW is running and runs into this issue. No other devices in my house seem to be affected/loose internet connection when this issues happens.

Heya Fish!

I went ahead and moved this post to a new thread since the original topic was for players in Pakistan. The problem in this case is presented here:

The problem is basically happening between the computer and the router. The most likely case is that something is interfering with the wifi signal. Using a wired connection should resolve the issue for both Overwatch disconnecting and the Twitch stream buffering.

Hope the info helps. Cheers!

It is happening for a year in LAX as well.
It is happening to friends playing in ORD as well.
It is happening to many streamers and friends playing in ICN and GTK as well.

Why is blizzard thinking this issue is happening to only certain regions and certain ISP. while me and my community, playing this game 10 hours or more a day, is clearly seeing EVERYONE having this issue at some point EVERY SINGLE PLAY SESSION.

Howdy WCS,

Latency issues can happen for many different reasons, which is why you can see people from many different locations having these problems over the years. There are currently no known problems with the Overwatch servers and we aren’t aware any widespread problems affecting players in your region, so likely whatever is affecting you is an isolated issue. If you would like to create a new thread with your own MTR test, we can help investigate your situation specifically.
