I concur
I meant after the fact. Mistakes happen in the moment for the very fact that they are mistakes but after you commit a mistake one usually knows that they committed a mistake because it has consequences after. Most of the things pointed out during a replay review I already know.
While Iām playing the game, Iām not in the same mindset as I am when reviewing a replay. I imagine that my brain commits all these resources to actually playing the game and then thereās only leftover resources to do that replay review type thinking/consideration. I donāt know if you get what I meanā¦
Is this a review VOD? Iām confused by the title/message.
Yes and no hahahha. Just go with the flow
Noā¦. Someone said something to him somewhere so he was trying to prove heās not dumb igā¦.
Seeā¦. This is the Sukre I remember. I definitely remember you being frustrated from time to time but always chill.
u probably dont devote enough brain power to positioning then
Iām pretty sure positioning is part of playing the game. What, fishing for an insult? Sleezy form of entertainment.
OMG lol you kinda know me. I do take them as entertainment, but as a lesson in guide too. Itās not fun being super serious all the time.
I learned alot om Youtube just now so Iām good
This is why the best VOD reviews are those which try to target your mindset rather than just commenting on what youāve actually done.
Obviously the basics have to be broached first, so if I player is just making poor positioning mistakes one after another then you have to address it, but the general advice I give, especially when in sub-Diamond ranks, is to actually slow down and think.
If I notice a player keeps running in as main tank and dying split from their team, Iām not just going to point that out, I encourage you to actually stop in the moment and realize āIām dying a lot. How often is everyone else dying? Why does it seem Iām dying more than them? What could I be doing better in this situation to not die so often?ā
Once you get the hang of it, things like that become second nature. The moment I die I not only know that I was out of position, I know what I need to do to solve the problem.
Everyone makes mistakes in their own plays, even GMs. The primary factor separating the better players from the worse though is that the better players generally stop making the same mistakes after the first time it hits them.
Until it does become second nature though, itās fine to slow down early and late in the fight to think about what actually happened. The moment you die, shut everything else out and think āWhy did I just die?ā. And donāt go āMy healers are just badā, or āMy tanks werenāt with meā, or anything like that. The majority of the time, you could have played it better as well.
Some things I noticed: You push forward without thinking about the rest of your team quite often. Your shield placement is focused mainly on what would be best for you at the time. The placement isnāt that bad though.
Your flaw, as a tank, is that youāre not taking your teammates into consideration enough. Look around and get a handle on what they are doing and what you might be able to do to help.
Your damage mitigation was decent and while you seem to be using your succ at random when itās off cooldown you do use your rock to take down people in front of you. If you start considering how you can use your succ to mitigate damage for your team as well as yourself it could help both greatly.
Knowing that this is a high silver game you arenāt going to get teammates that will follow you or fallback so that the game can reset the balance - you have to wait for them to fail so that you can back them up.
I would give the advice to stay behind a DPS and put your energy into ābeing their tankā instead of being pushing forward and trying to beat your head against the wall.
I hope that helps and gives you something to think about as you move forward! You be you though!
P.S: I absolutely hate both of those maps and the hog pulling the dva bomb into the group at the end: Classic.
you were asking for help, that would imply having ears to listen.
I agree with you here. But Iām sure by now that youāve seen how long my posts get. I generally only offer that level of ālets talk about why this is a problemā if Iām in a discord call with someone.
Already I wrote a paragraph⦠D:
You give these people too much effort. I know you love the game but they just arenāt good gamers yet.
Yup I push forward alot as I canāt rely on my elo solo que so yaaa. Iād rather have a coordinating team.
Youtube guide throw my balls at the feet of ppl also shoot at the ceiling will get value as hitting the shields alot wastes time.
Another was never get close to the enemy as staying medium distance is best for Sigma
That advice is okay for medium ranks, less so for low ranks. Iām slightly above you at 2k so weāre basically in the same boat. I understand the lone wolf mindset as I use to have it myself and sometimes slip into āscrew everyone else Iām doing this for meā from time to time. Something to work on I guess.
I had to break the āIām better than everyone else at this rank and they donāt deserve meā pretty early on. Had to come to terms with the realization that everyone thatās being placed in a game is in the same boat, maybe not for the same reason but weāre there. Excluding smurfs of course.
Personalized advice is much better than the general advice that Youtube guides can give, imho. I do believe you can surpass even me with a little more teamwork, Surkre!
The Discord group with Abdullah, Phy, Rhainsict, ect have helped me get a handle on this whole thing a lot better than stewing in my own hatred ever did. lol
Today I got MVP with Sig (61% on fire).
I did end up helping my team.
We still lost however I take it as a learning improvement match.
Hanzo was the biggest issue for the team
Their Hanzo? High silver is when Hanzo players do start to become a problem - people start gaining some aim.
Hanzo kept flanking and I had too much to focus on as my team could have taken the pressure off me a little. I posted the code earlier.
Iām sitting at 1900SR, was 1775
