That’s the thing. According to the charts they keep showing, the delta gap between ranks in matches:
50% of matches are within 3-4 Divisions
75% of matches are within 5 Divisions
95% of matches are within 8-9 Divisions
and the worst 1% of matches are within 11-12 Divisions
But for me, 95% of matches as a DPS Silver player, I’m facing Plat and Diamond players IN the role they are playing. So 95% of my matches fall in the worst overall 1% of all OW matches?? Those charts and the people making them are lying.
And then on the rare occasion that doesn’t happen, it’ll be a Master player but just in an off role, which is ridiculous as well, even though it’s an off role. Someone who is a Master DPS player and a Diamond Tank player, but happens to only be a Silver support, should not be playing in my Silver match. You put a player like that at support playing Bap and guess what happens? Exactly what you would expect, he literally carried his team, had the most damage, kills, and totally dominated the entire match.
My point is, EVEN when I catch a break as a Silver player and get to play a match with some actual other Silver players, then this HUGE flaw in the matching ruins it.
But MOST of my matches are far worse. Just flooded with Plats playing the role they are actually playing.
Silver players are getting absolutely (redacted) on.
It never used to be like this. Silver players got to play against other Silver players, and yes, there have always been a zillion smurfs messing things up for lower ranked players, but now, the matching does the smurfing for them. You can smurf now just by playing your main plat account because you’ll be matched against Silver players all day long.
I play Silver DPS. I face a Plat or Diamond tanks in at least half of my matches. It’s just a joke. The matching is an absolute train wreck and it’s getting worse and worse and worse. They keep say it’s getting better but the total opposite.
Sure, that’s a fair question. You’d think they’d be awful. But quite the opposite. Most of them were just placing in their first 5 matches. They were all likely using alt accounts bc none of them had “titles” and that’s a giveaway most of the time. People using their main accounts have usually finished a Battle Pass at least one season and have a “title” like “Peasant” or something. People using their alt-accounts never have titles. I mean, if you can actually see their profiles, you can verify, but 80% of players in my matches have private profiles.
