Reading the excepts though has been insightful. It is a shame that lore been reduced to being drip-fed to us via stuff like this though. I would have enjoyed seeing Moira’s smug look as they screw over Dr. Al-Shahrani for the cache.
That thing on the picture doesn’t look like a vanadium cluster, it looks like a substance called ferrofluid, also know as magnetic fluid or magnetic colloid.
Please, use Google before write lore… , this or everyone in Oasis is dumb.
literally have everything to do with everything, without pve lore is pointless, they cant or better said dont want to move the plot forward and just create more worthless lore that will never be elaborated
valid complains arent trolling, whoever you are and whatever i said on whatever your post was
the problem is that we get no car, we get nothing, they didnt promised a ferrari and we got a ford, they promised a spaceship and we get nothing. this crap empty post is not the pve story mode, is not an animated series, is nothing
Nobody promised you a full PvE mode. They said they were working on one that was subject to change during the very fluid development process. You’re mad about something you never had.
It’s only stupid to people who weren’t paying attention to dev process for OW2. It was extremely clear to me, not so much to clickbait gaming “journalists”, that PvE was something they wanted to do but didn’t have a clear vision for yet. They only revealed what they did because the process was taking much longer than expected and affecting the normal development updates for OW1, and they had to show something.
I saw a group of devs trying their best to create something new despite development challenges and insane community expectations. Your comment perfectly reflects our community’s nonsense. And we wonder why they don’t like to reveal things too early…
so they were working 5 years and showing us things that they full knew they will never do yet they announce overwatch 2 as a full pve experience with thousands of missions and a lot of story and replayability, in blizzcon 2023 they keep saying pve will come. but they never promised pve. not even bobby kotic was such a scum to give such a lame excuse for the failure and lies about pve
I think comes from a) people generally not understanding the development process for a videogame. And b) from Blizzard overstating the probability of PvE (along with a whole host of other proposed features) by posting their roadmaps far, far too early in the development cycle.
And yes, I agree, the press ran away with the idea.
This, compounded by the farcical mismanagement of the project by Activision, along with Blizzards mass exodus of talent, saw a lot of things from OW2’s original vision falling through.
I can only hope Blizzard under MS will learn from these mistakes in their future developments, no matter what IP that involves.
generally is not our problem what happens backstage, they lied, broken promises and did nothing in 5 years, 5 years, not 6 months, not one year, they failed and lied about it, is that simple. they just only need to keep doing pve like archives for free moving the plot for free because that is no worth a cent, making seasonal and gg, but they cant even make 5vs5 work when their only focus is pvp
you would make bobby proud, your excuses are beyond lame, when the executive produced said hanzo mythic skin have no customization because the skin wasnt about customization even when mythic skins are about customization wasnt as lame excuse as you saying they never promised pve
However, I think you have a fair point, so I will add an addendum to that:
c) AND lying through omission to their customers when it fell through.
OW2 not getting PvE was a by-product of a game in production that was poorly managed. With Kotick himself being cited as a source of strife for team 4, because he kept setting up development for features he would quickly axe… but not before they’d already sunk a lot of resources into it. Which, as you can imagine, detracted from the development of PvE quite a bit.
Whilst we cannot throw what we are getting under the bus, we can most certainly be disappointed by it. And we can be angry at how long it took for them to tell us about it being axed.
PvE is DoA, it never got off the ground. And that is frustrating. But these things happen in this industry all the time, it’s only recently that we hear about them as consumers. It used to be that a new game got released and that was it, you’d have no idea if a game had a fraught development because you’d just never hear about it.
As much as I want PvE to be a thing: I’m not about to demand the devs start churning out content for free either. Because no big developer would be expected to do that.
I think, as consumers, we need to stop buying into ‘hype’. It is a trap I’ve fallen into myself. I need to wait until a game is in front of me and I can play it for myself: I shouldn’t take roadmaps for their word.
