[Feedback Thread Continued Part III] Mercy Updates - Jan 30, 2018

it wasn’t in 1.0 version

What was the only counter to grav+dragonstrike aside from transcendence (which can be shut down by an anti-nade?) Mass ressurect.

What is one of the primary uses of Mercy in high tier play? Rezzing your widow if she loses the snipe battle.

Mercy 1.0 would have saved us from the wombo-combo meta and sniper meta all at once. RIP.

Let’s hope the next hero is a legend.

She is already getting dangerously close to her old “must pick” pickrate…this would cement her position.

Or, you know, instead of bringing the most Un-fun thing back into the game, we could just nerf graviton and Dragonstrike…

there is a mercy mega thread for this sort of thing

Considering she is in the meta I don’t really think she’d be saving us from it. She’d be worse against snipers tbh. And for her to counter grav combo she would need to avoid being caught…

Ya I’m going to disagree.

I know, that thing that the Devs 100% read.

Oh wait

Problem with that is the sort of Pharmercy dilemma. Grav is a fine ult, and dragonstrike is a fine ult. How can you justify a nerf solely based on the synergy between the two? It’s tricky.

your forgetting the main problem it isnt mainly anti-nade why it is a counter you dont need anti-nade to beat transcendence all you need is a mercy to boost hanzo while he ults into the grav and bam the damage output beats transcendence

Add a ana nade and you counter the boosted gravstrike.
2 ults + Mercy Vs 1 Ult + Ana.
Seems fine.

I have to disagree there, the press Q to delete everyone is not a fine ult, it requieres some timing, but the payoff is 90% of the time a teamwipe.
Dragonstrike on the other hand is very bad without Grav, you need to use the ‘‘Get out of the way’’ Move to dodge it, and the ‘‘Get out of the way’’ Move has no cooldown, and unless you fall into a coma you can execute it.

What is the logic behind bringing one OP ult to counter another OP ult?

I have to disagree in return. It’s not a delete everyone ult. Rein can hold his shield and block a decent amount of non-penetrating (non-dstrike) damage. Reaper and Moira can escape it. Mei can ice block, etc. It requires follow up.

Yes it is.

2 ults and 3 players (half a team) committing

Vs 2 players and 1 ult.

At what point was mass rez OP? During the times of mass rez you were seen as throwing if you didn’t take Ana over Mercy. The only reason the ult was removed was because it was “unfun” for the enemy team.

It is a delete everything ult in certain situations that can be controlled to be 100% of the time, Let’s start with the list, it can combow with without being blocked by a barrier: Both of the dragons, winston in general, Symmetra’s orbs (Currently) Phara can fly over it, and destroy the sheilds, Sombra can EMP and stop the barrier, A fully charged zarya getting behind the sheilds and shooting it with RMB, D.va bomb (Thrown correctly) riptire and more such as rein just shooting a firestrike and punching it a bunch.

At the time when they gave invincibility to Mercy when ulting.
Also it has no counterplay whatsoever.

How about not blowing 2+ ults to wipe 5 people who are being denied a major source of healing by their hiding Mercy?
