[Feedback Thread Continued Part III] Mercy Updates - Jan 30, 2018

i didnt even read that part but its wrong anyway. i think i was reading a “translation” but it had nothing to do what i said so i stopped reading. mercy is just too good the other healers arent bad they never were before she was broken. yes valkryie is an abomination.

They off healers. The need to oh crap button to make up for their weak healing.

Mercy job is to keep the team up and health the whole match. If you give a hero a mega shiled their is 0 reason to pick other healers cause she has no weakness now as a healer

I think saying she has no weaknesses is pretty ignorant considering that she’s the only character which doesn’t actually attack most of the time. Her weakness is technically everything and the only reason why that hasn’t made her unviable is that her mobility is high, then again her mobility is arguably weaker than Moiras as well.

Your teammates don’t always die near corners or cliffs tho.

No weakness as a healer. Ok, lets give mercy Zen or Lucios ULT.

Now, Why would you not pick her as your support every single game?

“Look, if you’re going to die can you at least die near a convenient spot like a wall or object? Thank you”.

Every Mercy’s thought ever.

That’s not even what I said…

I said Valk is supposed to compete with Trans and Sound Barrier, but it doesn’t because it’s like a crappy version of Brigette’s ult. Valk is honestly so bad that I think Moira has a better ult, and that thing charges nearly 2x faster on average.

Why would you give her zen or lucio ult? that’s idiotic.

It absolute not suppose to compete with them. Mercy is built to be the main healer. She is a strong healer whos job is to maintain a healthy team and help prevent picks.

Her weakness is a massive ult combo. This is why you pair her with one of the off healers. Zen or Lucio who can counter ULT to cover the main healers weakness.

Their trade of for this is their healing is weaker than mercies

slow her self regen and cut down the range on her stupid escape to far off teammate ability.

Agreed! Like, I was okay with the Mercy rework at first. I had a good time. But now she can’t even successfully revive someone anymore. Unless we’re destroying the enemy team I barely even bother reviving someone who died anymore because I know somehow I’ll die before the revive goes through (even though it clearly did go through). If they wanted to prevent Hide-And-Rez (which let’s face it was definitely the main reason Mercy got a rework to begin with), they should have changed Mass Revive so she couldn’t revive through walls. That would have saved SO many issues. I want Mass Rez to come back, and I want it tweaked so it’s not massively strong.

I will never understand why people think Mercy having a high pick-rate is a bad thing and means she needs to be nerfed to the point where nobody will want to play her. It just means that people are ACTUALLY PLAYING SUPPORT. I’ve been in Competitive Games where I’ve had to deal with an entire team of DPS heroes who refused to switch off and go tank or healer. I had to keep switching between DVa and Mercy/Ana in order to try and help my team fill the roles they were refusing to go. It’s so pathetic: everyone screams they need a healer on the team, and then complains that Mercy has a high pick-rate. At least someone is actually going healer! It’s better than nothing at all!

Yes,they are bad. read again what i said in a previous post.

Ana will be worse with every single shield added to the game and thats a bad design:

Winston can do much more shield than he could before.
Orisa can spam shields.
Brigitte have a shield as well.
Dont forget we have a Symmetra rework in the near future which adds the biggest shield to the game ever. It will completely lock out Ana from long range heals.

Brigitte and Lucio have the same roles which in Lucio is severely underpowered against Brigitte.

Zen have the only ability in the game which can save a whole team in a clutch situation, but otherwise his healing is crap, he should heal more with less range or faster orb return if the target breaks line of sight.

Moira is the only healer who can compete against Mercy, but she is only close range.

So we have 3 main healers:
Ana, who is pretty much doomed with her current kit.
Moira, who is more effective than Mercy but only in close range
Mercy, which is the middle ground between long range and close range and can do both to an extend.

Ofcourse people pick Mercy over the other 2.

That doesn’t excuse the fact that Moira’s ult does 140 HPS and 70 DPS at the same time, and if we use DPS main logic because they say Valk is 60x5 even though most of the time it’s like 60x3, then Moira’s ult does 140x5, has better lifesteal and DPS logic just puts 70 DPSx5 because DPS logic.

In reality Moira’s ult does heal 2.3 times more than Mercy’s to a single target, has the benefit of DPS and charges a crap ton faster, if you’re concerned that her healing output would be too high then her ult should honestly just charge faster because currently it’s a longer charging ult meaning it should be premium but it’s effectiveness is just mediocre at best. To counter Valk you literately just focus people which everyone in plat and over does anyway so what’s the point of using Valk if people just focus 1 person and it doesn’t do anything different from your kit.

As long as Mercy have Res, she will always be option 1.
Res is just too strong and that’s just it.
Unless they make its cast animation like 5 seconds or the cooldown to something like 120 seconds she will always be the best sup, but that would just destroy her even more lol

Moira can’t save her team from an ult storm either.

Moira can save her team from Grav Dragonblade Combos, Valk can’t do that. Moira can use her ult aggressively to deal 70 DPS through shields if the enemy is clustered together, Valk can be used to have 15 seconds of no main healer with 0 healing output for a chance to allow the Mercy to go hunting for a Widow or something, and if the Mercy does find the Widow the Widow has the upper chance in the dual as she has a 1 shot headshot weapon, and the Mercy invested her ult into it.

She has no escape she will die that why she doesn’t get picked much.

If you want to give mercy her Moria ULT sure why not.

Valk is better than Coalescence:
-It isn’t cancellable
-Mercy is not bound to the ground when using it (or in general)
-Its chain healing does not rely on allies being in a line
-Its health regen does not rely on hitting things
-Mercy can use all of her abilities, including her escape method
-It bolsters the entire team w/ damage boost rather than tacking on 20DPS to her regular attack
I like Coalescence. I get a lot of mileage out of it. I think it’s pretty good and it has its pros over Valk (piercing attack that goes through shields, people tend to think they’re taking more damage from it than they are bc the effect is so visually loud, etc). But it is not flat-out better than Valk. It is probably better than nano tho

Mercy needs some serious buffs to her fun factor before we consider nerfs to her kit.

For how fast it charges, I’d say it’s by far a better ult. Yes, there are disadvantages over Valk but you probably get 1.5x more Coalescence in a game than Valks because of how fast it charges. Overall Valk has to compete with a certain type of ult, it can’t be a long charging ult that has the same power level as fast charging ults, it either has to be a long charging ult that actually does something and doesn’t get countered by basic shotcalling or become a fast charging ult that has mediocre effect.
