So it’s hypocritical to admit that their logic was flawed to the point where it led to the literal worst balance the game has ever seen? To learn from that huge mistake, and not want to risk doing literally the exact same mistake again?

And when there is stats to back up the claim that she’s not balanced properly than I’ll more than happily agree with that. But seeing as right now the stats say she is well balanced, a change is unnecessary.

The skill ceiling was definitely higher for Mercy 1.x than it is now. Rez is trivial to use and you don’t even need to decide which target to prioritize. Instead you just rez when you are able to without dying and without a team member dying due to the lack of heals while you are rezzing… Valkyrie is trivial to use as well and there’s hardly any decision process on when to use it either. You use it if you’re pushing and a majority of your team is alive, or when you are defending against a push and the majority of your team is alive, or when you need to escape death and there’s nobody to GA to. And when you use Valkyrie you press spacebar then hold a mouse-button… That’s it… trivial and boring…

I can’t claim that the mass-rez was hugely engaging either, but it was over quickly rather than having a length period of people watching from the sky, and you had to save your ult for the right moment whether it was to tempo-rez or to do a mass rez. The choice you made there separated skilled Mercy players from not so skilled Mercy players. There’s hardly any difference between Mercy’s skill floor or ceiling anymore, so being skilled as a Mercy player these days doesn’t really matter much…

The stats were evident by the most optimal strategy of using Mercy was to hide and encourage your team to die together as opposed to try to actually keep your team alive.

Why are pickrates and winrates irrelevant? Mercy is now the 3rd most played hero. Why are we avoiding these numbers?

Is it because they don’t represent the ā€œfunā€ factor in your opinion?

Statistics, numbers, pickrates. None of them can fully gauge how FUN a hero is. You know what’s fun?

I don’t agree totally with that.

  • This ult is strong but unfun.
  • Mercy core kit is fun to play
  • The rez feel weird to use

no she was not fine…it’s why she was changed to begin with…you can claim she was balanced but blizz told you there was an aspect of her that THEY were not happy with…you can argue if they made the right changes but there was a reason for that (not the point of this thread however)…

Actually, I addressed that already. That is simply personal opinion and they are not going to address your opinion because you don’t speak for the entirety of the Mercy community.

Yeah, your not totally happy with mercy but at least she is not f teir trash she is at least viable at top teir.

They have WAY BIGGER fish to fry than mercy one tricks don’t think she is fun enough.

For real though, outside of competitive, is there a reason we can’t have both versions of Mercy and let people decide what they want to play? Do we need to argue that it’s one or the other and everyone else’s idea of fun is ā€œwrongā€ or whatever? One size does not fit all, it just leads to unnecessary antagonism.

Symmetra is getting a rework
Ana is getting a buff (but she’s been weak for a long time)
Reaper is benefiting a lot from the upcoming meta
Genji is still strong but need to adapt to new game conditions…

I KNOW they have bigger fish to fry. I’ve said it countless times: I understand they have other heroes to work on, and they need to do that before Mercy. That much is obvious. What we’re frustrated about, and what you guys are missing, is that the latest comment shows they aren’t truly gauging our problems correctly.

Also, I’m starting to get a little bit salty here so I apologize for coming off super harsh.
