(Feedback) Gibraltar attacker side spawn at 1st point

I dread Gibraltar as an attacker. Absolutely avoid it like the plague, and it’s not because of the map as a whole. It’s all about the first point and the attacker spawn room. Defenders have an easier time funneling and gatekeeping because there’s only two ways out and they’re right on top of each other.

If you survive the first few steps outside then you can try to take a flanking path behind the building on the left, but it doesn’t help if you can’t get out big doors since the enemy team only has to watch one place.

The attacker spawn needs to have alternate side exits like Dorado, King’s Row, and others have so that defenders could potentially camp but they’d have to watch a larger area and can’t funnel as easily unless the attacking team chooses to let them and not use the alternate exits.

There’s a 3rd exit bottom right

I’ll have to play it, I really don’t remember seeing that. Where does it exit? From memory there’s the big bay on the bottom floor, big bay up top (take stairs on the right).

The right side is a straight exposed wall, maybe a box or forklift or something, and a healthpack that leads to the payload and the stairs up top. Is there another exit there?

It’s on the right from the defender’s PoV, by the cliff. If you spawn as an attacker, it’s to the left at ground level.

Ohhhhh okay! I’ll have to wander out that way and look, does it dump out below the storage container on the side and hidden from view? I never see anyone go that way and thought it was a dead end.

It pops attackers out behind that building that leads up to the high walkway.

Here’s a shot of it from the coastal side. You can just about see the destroyed walkway I mentioned.

good post!

I always play that door vs the TOP door and the main door since everyone usually just funnels out there and feeds.

The nice thing is, if a person actually had a team that fully went out the left door (the one you circled from the attacker POV) it would make for a much better start to a match. People would wonder if the attackers team is AFK

:stuck_out_tongue:

I typically go up top right away, look out that WINDOW and see what the enemy has, make my choices on switching characters and then move out.

Welp 2nd ones is also pain
if defenders hold 2 sides where gates close after finishing 1st point - it’s also hard to get through, ecpecially if a good snipers are on the plane on top
same with 1st point - very good top positions for defenders

Wow that door is super noticeable in that screenshot (many thanks to @Potatoad for the assist). It’s so rare I see anyone over in that corner or taking that hallway, and I guess I just thought it was a cliffside dead end/wraparound. Now that I know it exists i’m going to try it out so I don’t inadvertently facecheck a Widow or Hanzo that I don’t know exists at the start of a match.
