I meant it to be a bit comical, and yea it was intentional
But thats kinda how it is right, they act like they are the middle of the turning point of the earth and everything has to be in their favor and everone has to obey their wishes, bcs papa jeff said its fine even though majority knows, its absolutely a trashy attitude.
I might be wrong, but i feel like major reason why people one trick is them liking the character they picked a lot more than anyone else in the game or role those days.
Everyone has fear of failure and it encourages people to adapt and in order to adapt, you need to be versatile so nah, thats not the reason.
The reason is pure selfishness. They want to play X hero and they dont care about what happens or who asks/advice otherwise. That is the common trait of all onetricks.
Players that one trick different things each season for example or main 3 heroes are sort of there, but they are not true one tricks. The one trick meta heroes for fear of failure, thats a different matter. They will put the effort in learning them and thats appreciated.
True onetricks dont want to put the effort in learning anything else and they never will unless Blizzard forces them with mechanics and since those dont exist … yep, thats what we have
Being a one trick will hold you back more. The more character knowledge you have, the better off you’ll be
Well…You’re not really right here.
It’s not really a fear of failure and more that many one tricks like one hero and get very good at playing only them. This then means that they cant flex at their sr without throwing even harder than just sticking on their hero. It’s not fear, it’s understanding their limitations.
I one tricked in the past and still do have a purely one trick account in addition to the account I’ll now flex across all projectiles (+ 1 hitscan) on. Funnily, my one trick account tends to sit at a slightly higher sr than my flex account and easily has a higher peak sr. That’s despite me mostly playing my main on the flex account and just flexing when I think it’s needed…
Why people one trick and the consequences for the team really aren’t as simple or as one sided as many try to make it seem.
