Makes it sound negative. That’s usually what happens to people who try to have this positive facade for so long. People are human, and they are allowed to be human. No reason to be fake. That goes for anyone here.

I also remember some old players, not forums users as well, anybody recalls Hanjo, best bottom bronze player who made it top 1 with the infamous SR bug lmao.

Don’t get me wrong, I get why people like him. I mean I understand why people like a certain “positive” forum regular whose name I won’t mention because they’re still around, even though I find them…intolerable.
Perhaps it’s just me - I find overly positive people insincere a lot of the time. RichC was a bit like that, to me. But I do genuinely hope he’s doing well.

Yes. It was. And they put in Academy D.va and also made a hero called King in her mecha squad. I gotta believe that’s coincidence. Just for my sake of faith in the team, lol

You know sadly when I first got this game back in 2017 I mained Mercy and I would see Aria’s videos and thought she was the greatest. I didn’t know much about the game and METAs. Was until I branched out to other heroes that I realized that she was kinda bias and overly unpleasant. I was naive i suppose.
It’s super odd. She was like that even in her earlier days though, just a little more discreet about it.

For me, it wasn’t his positivity. I actually usually like positive folks. It was some stuff I saw him say before he left the way that he did. And it made me find his whole thing to be insincere. But I didn’t expect things to end the way they did.

I can’t confirm this but I believe people spoke about his mental health complications (bipolar disorder if I remember correctly) after the debacle and that would make everything really unfortunate considering how he left and his cheery persona.
I mean, yeah, a smile is the best mask one can put on.
I remember that day he spammed a bunch of rude posts addressed to the devs, but it was such a long time ago now. Whether or not I saw any other off-colour things he said around that time, I don’t even remember.

Like I said, I do genuinely hope he’s gotten himself sorted out. It’s clear he wasn’t the most stable person in the world, and that’s very unfortunate.

Bipolar or not, it takes a mental toll on a person to be positive to what was likely an extreme. If for no other reason than to keep his cheerful persona on the forums, where it matters the least. People push these guys up on a pedestal and they feel the need to live up to expectations.
That’s why I say it should be known to everyone that it is OK to be human and have feelings that don’t go with the norm.
