Failed to Connect to Server

I’d like to preface this post by saying I do not necessarily care about the penalties being issued due to this bug. A 15 minute ban isn’t a big deal, 8 hours is annoying but this is in relation to the issue down below.

My game keeps bugging out on me. During a match, I will be playing normally, and then I will start to experience rubberbanding; its as if my character is being pulled in one direction despite putting in all the opposite inputs to stop the movement. After about 30 seconds, I get a black screen with the Overwatch Loading icon in the bottom right. I can still type in match chat but I cannot participate in the match; even after restarting the game, it will not let me in to participate. It then will say that “Failed to connect to server” and proceed to give me a penalty even though I am still in the game.
In addition, when a game has been found, it may take several seconds to load in, even when my teammates are in. It will then say “Failed to Connect to Server” despite being able to talk in match chat.

I am reopening this issue as I still need an explanation as to what is going on. I have followed your instructions last time, and I have not seen any changes to this issue. Nobody else in my building has issues with the internet, thus I believe this is an issue on your end.

I have videos of this occurring and not being able to join again, however I cannot upload them at this time. Somebody help boost this to a dev for an explanation!

I am also having this issue and I spoke to ticket support and they told me they would not remove the ban even though it’s because of this bug now I am banned for Season 10.

I have tried:
-flushing and renewing dns
-restarting router
-port forwarding
-called ISP to ensure good connection
-allowed Overwatch through Firewall
-redownloading the game
-downloading the steam version
-repairing battle.net version
-verified cache on steam version
-removed all background applications
-restarted computer

Basically, the only way I can KIND OF tell if its going to work is if I am able to join a skirmish before hand.

I am playing with a friend from the East coast while I’m West so maybe that’ll be some valuable info to anyone trying to fix this. I am also now using Windows 11, so maybe thats a possible issue.

I don’t know man, but honestly Blizzard please fix.

Does anyone have a fix to this?

EDIT: I may have found a fix but it only applies to people who encounter this issue when they are queueing with a friend. Try having your friend use a VPN that is located in your region, this may be a temporary fix. We never ran into the issue again after trying the VPN.
