and boops, stuns, bubbles, fortify, ice block/wall, trans, beat, spreading out, being on high ground, etc.
EMP counters: ult tracking so a lucio/zen can ult, teammates that can’t move/do any kind of follow up.
Yes, shatter has to potential to be devastating but it is much harder to pull off than EMP.

I don’t think you know what the word “bias” means

Earthshatter is way more predictable, and way more counterable
You’re crazy if you think otherwise
It is due to the counter play. With EMP there basically is none. The only counterplay to EMP is your teams coordination.
Well, for one I can block shatter.
IIRC correctly someone was doing some lab testing and demonstrated the EMP actually hits players within .18 seconds once the button is hit?

It would be really, really obvious if it was a .5 second cast time; that’s almost as long as hack’s. Its cast time is faster than a lot of people can react to. Idk where people are getting .5 seconds on EMP from.

If the audio and emp had some delay between, we wouldnt have supports wasting ults on a sombo boop!
Shatter only works on the ground doesn’t oneshot shields doesn’t last as long, stuff like that.
I believe thats how long until Sombra can fire again.
https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/bias
Inclination or prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a way considered to be unfair.
Synonyms:
prejudice , partiality, partisanship, favouritism, unfairness, one-sidedness
When someone says the’d rather die than play the game without some parts of it, it is considered a bias. But I guess you know more than the dictionary, Mr. Random Person on the Internet.
losing your abilities is just extreme bias.
ok dude, and im the idiot…
Holy S*** you f***ing killed him dude.
?? Are we playing the same game?
Like, when someone actually cancels an EMP it makes the overwatch moments on youtube. When someone cancels a shatter? Nope nowhere to be seen because that’s super easy and common.
When someone hits a 6 man shatter and cleans up, overwatch moments (maybe, has to be mega fat). Someone hits a 6 man EMP and cleans up. (Crickets chirping)
The difference is rarity. Hitting a good emp is expected. Hitting a good shatter is something you hope for but don’t always achieve. Cancelling a shatter is common. Cancelling an EMP is RARE. The rarity of these events certainly shows to disparity and contradicts the thread title. I just got now that you posted this a couple months ago, but still, has to be said.

Unlike EMP I’ve actually blocked many, many shatter’s with my Mei wall.
You can see the Rein, you can sense he is going to shatter depending on his play style (more aggressive and so on), you know where it’s coming from.
And you can react to it.
Sombra… well, you can’t see her, you can’t react to it.

As my three most played heroes - Zenyatta, Zarya, and Symmetra - I’d take getting shattered over EMP’d any day. Shatter on its own doesn’t basically one-shot me in addition to making me unable to fight back.
