I mean I can’t remember a recent game with worse combat but I can almost guarantee I’ve played worse, but it’s so abysmal that I can’t believe a game made in the last 20 years has worse combat
I mean, it’s an EA game. What do we expect? Everyone rushed the content and dropped it.
I’m sitting comfortably at lvl 42, day 72, with no sign of burnout. Sure there’s only two bosses left, but I have more stuff to catch, build a base proper…
Although we whine here about GaMe DeAd, it’s subjective, and the only ones who truly know by data are the devs… unless they make stats publicly available.
Like these games are like mmo they will never die for decades, esp pal world is set up for next 5 years from that initial hype.
But it wont thrive.
For ex: Im sure many of you have heard of empyrion its a space simulator that came just before No man sky and star citizen hype, and it delievered a lot of stuff immediately back then that none of these titles did.
I got it enjoyed it travelling to planets digging and stuff, it never built up much over the initial traction, but to this game that game just lives silently still updating, still a small core audience keeping it going on.
If you keep your expectations limited its a fantastic game,
It has repetitive game play and it gets old very fast.
But I don’t care cuz it’s EA, it’s cheap, and I played 138 hrs before I quit.
I honestly think it’s a big win for them cuz they never expect to have such a great achievement.
You can tell it’s from a small dev team as the story and lack of cut scenes, backstory etc show this.
If Palworld was not a Pokémon clone and didn’t get the publicity. Let’s for arguments sake that instead of pals it was mini robots. It would have been a game that sold 100k copies at most.
But it was ok for the $20 or whatever I paid. From the price I wasn’t expecting AAA.
I think you people dont know what single player games are. Firstly, its in EA and secondly its mainly a single player game, so people play through it and are done.
Why do you feel the need to hate on Palworld in the OW forum?
Because they did the content in the game that isn’t even finished…
BG3 isn’t an early access game, Palworld is. It also had early builds people could play before the final product launched which people stopped playing after they beat the limited content in the early builds.
Palworld isn’t finished and the devs plan on adding a lot more. Hopefully they can do it because they certainly now have the funds. Palworld has as much potential as it does and was as popular as it was and will be when content starts to roll because at it’s core, it’s fun. I’m glad the devs have been focused on fixing bugs and adding Qols to improve the fundamentals of the game before rushing to add a bunch of content and/or microtransactions just to keep numbers up.
Multiple games have shown, if the base is fun and the fundamentals are good, people will keep playing and there even might be surges of popularity in the future. MHW and Among US are two examples of games that people came back to at some point.
People completed it. The game is still early. It’s a good game. The end goal is PVP, which they’ll provide unlike the mythical Overwatch PvE campaigns.
